What, they're totally going to scrap the Others/Dharma/Black Oil and bring in the Super!Others. I kid. Ever since I read the relief on the writers/creators part that an end was in sight so they could tell the story they wanted to tell, rather than milking it indefinitely, my faith has been restored.

yeah, and given the show's ratings, I hope they get to next year.
Why is it LOST can pull off this multiple time-travel shit and make me hungry for more and with HEROES it makes me want to throw things at the screen?

I think toddler Charles was named after Charlie - because he saved Desmond's life and facilitated the reunion with Penny.
Desmond centric episodes rock.
I had thought that Richard Alpert was on the Island since whenever the pirate ship was foundered there.. . but this episode makes me think he may have only been there since the 50s.
no. I think he's been there longer than the 50s.
He would have to be in no less than his 80s if he was there in the 50s -- I'm betting since the pirate ship, at least.
What makes me foam at the mouth this time (there's always at least one detail that makes me yell at the screen) was the reveal that the Others all learn Latin... when so far as I can recall, there's been no mention of that in all the past seasons and many many scenes we've had with the Others.
Richard is likely pretty ancient. He gets to leave the island from time to time. There was that stint as Batmanuel in the mid-90s. So he has the capacity for heroism. I'd like to hear his Latin.

Oh, and somehow I had missed people calling Frogurt by that name on the show and thought it was a twopism until I heard Sawyer call him that last night.
I was reading Cindy's recap on TWOP (squee) and read this:
Next, Daniel is at the backdoor to the hatch, banging on it like he'd just stopped Sawyer from doing. He's pleading, "Please let this work," over and over again. And hey, I like most of these characters (or enjoy watching them, at least) even Daniel, but after the way he lectured Sawyer, I'm sort of hoping it doesn't work because I'm mean like that. I am not a "the rules apply to everyone but me" sort of person.
I had assumed that the same rules didn't apply because he and Desmond had met back in Oxford already and Desmond was his Constant. Though... Desmond didn't remember it during their encounter at the Swan door so... oof, this show makes my head hurt.
