That finale was, in fact, awesome. I'd say most episodes this series have been really good, so it's nice to see the series on form.
The bomb thing made no sense, really. If you're deep deep underground, you can't send a signal to a boat offshore, for one thing. But, hey, it's a minor quibble.
I'm really happy with the way people really have got off the island now. If they had kept the show all island based, I would have quit watching. As season two, really? Not much fun as an entire series.

Not a spoiler. What Sawyer says is essentially what Teppy posted. The phone call tells Kate that the Island needs her - come back to the Island. (And of course, she dreams Claire telling her NOT to do that.)
