Lost 2: Tied to a Tree in a Jungle of Mystery
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
And here I was worried that Jin was being punished for his driving.
The show is making my head hurt. I fear they are going to keep piling on the questions until they break for the season. It might work better to just wait until the series completes and watch straight through. No guarantee there that the threads will be tied up anyway.
Daisy, you KICK ASS. That's a brilliant idea! Particularly the reason why Hurley went all nutso.
Why didn't Sayid translate the obvious Morse code?
I was wondering the same thing.
I thought Hurley went nuts because he saw Charlie?
Two points for the show (so far) not stealing Sun's baby, since I was sure that's what all the ominousness was about. Her doctor mysteriously away, random drugs injected into her, no one with her to protect her...
The suggestion at TWOP is that the Morse code told Sayid that Michael was there as Kevin Johnson.
But that was supposition not based on anyone's ability to read Morse code.
(I guess I was crying too hard to actually read the tombstone. . . even when I watched that scene a second time.)
I hate to rain on the Jin-still-alive parade, but I can't see the sense of Hurley and Sun going to the grave if it's just a "grave". They would know if it was a ruse, and it would have zero significance for them.
I also think that now that we know Jin dies within the next seven months, he may be the one who dies next week. But that's just a guess.

But if he stayed on the island, and there was no way for him to either a) come home, or b) the others to go back to the island, the grave would be a good symbolic place for Hurley to *visit* him with Sun and the baby.
Of course, it could be that he died on the island, too, but given that they showed Sun mourning him this week, I can't imagine he's going to be the one to die next week, because that's just too easy.

I can. I think it's possible the Oceanic Six have to keep up appearances. It seems there are people trying to get them to crack -- to admit that there were other survivors, etc. Sun might have to visit Jin's grave, just like Jack, Kate, and Hurley can't tell the truth about the island.
Unless the baby counts as six. Which, probably not.
I think he does.
However it turns out with Jin...I loved what they did with the flashback. It so perfectly set up the distinction between 'the man I was then' and his life with Sun on the island. And how he could have forgiven her so readily. I'm a huge fan of the whole personal responsibility thing and his character's self awareness was lovely.
That, and if he DID stay on the island (vs. dying in Korea...or simply being memorialized there without an actual body due to some on-island misadventure) it might have been, in part, to NOT go back to being that guy.
Bummer for the short-lived employment of Zoe Bell. It would have been so much more fun to see her battling a polar bear or fleeing the smoke monster.
I'm not really sure what to think about the "Kevin" sighting. Though I'm not altogether convinced that he is the helper.
