Somebody over at Twop pointed out that Kate's attorney was played by the actor who played a character named Jack Shepard in the movie Frequency a movie that dealt with time travel of a sort.
Lost 2: Tied to a Tree in a Jungle of Mystery
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
I fell for the gambit that it was either Sawyer's or Jack's, which they were playing up (I called my mother on a commercial break and she hadn't even picked up on Kate's comment about having a baby at home - she is greatly benefiting from the pop-up reruns!), and Aaron caught me by surprise.
Where did you get 8, PC? I thought we were still counting up to the Oceanic Six. Jack, Hurley, Kate, Sayid, now Aaron, and 1 we don't know yet - perhaps the person in the coffin, perhaps not.
Jack said 8 survived the crash when he was telling the story on the stand.
but only 6 got rescued? interesting. the rest have to still be back on the island. It is unthinkable that Sun, Jin, Claire, Rose, Bernard, Desmond and Sawyer are dead!
Okay, yeah, now I remember that. It was so obviously false (to those of us who watched all the people running around on the beach), I kind of thought, he's lying for some reason that will become apparent later, and glossed over that he had just been sworn in. Maybe they did it to show how willing he was to lie under oath, e.g., re how he felt about Kate. Which, that was such a weird thing to ask.
quester, yeah, right?!
I guess for some reason they (the 6) have all agreed on that story - 8 crash survivors, two of whom didn't make it to be rescued, Kate is big damn hero. Jack couldn't very well tell the real truth just because he was under oath...
I assume Sayid's and Jack's references to people who need protecting are to the rest of them back on the island.
Xanadu!
Shame on y'all for not mentioning there was Xanadu!
I don't know if anything can be gleaned from a story of a muse who falls in love with a mortal artist. I suppose it has less significance than Watership Down or whatever that novel was.
But, Xanadu!
/much love, despite the rollerscating and the animation sequence. ELO!!!! Gene Kelly!!!

Well, Ben may or may not count. I'm also unclear whether Aaron counts. I think Aaron may count more than Ben, though; the lawyer made it sound like the kid was uberfamous, so he must have had his mug splashed across the papers as well. Man, I can't believe one of the slots for the Oceanic Six was taken up by the BABY. (I mean, sure, fine, baby, yay, but...he's not really a character!)
I don't think Ben counts.
Claire was told by psychic lady not to let anybody else bring up her kid. I don't know if that's significant.
The show almost feels Aliasish nowadays, what with Sayid and Ben being uber assassins having some kind of war with other powerful people in the real world. Not that I'm knocking it - episode 3 was really brilliant, I thought.

I was thinking about that very thing during that scene with Kate and Aaron and Claire. I was also thinking of the fact that I feel like the writers are sort of pretending the first two seasons never happened.
