I think Annie is dead and gone. Perhaps because she became pregnant (maybe at some tragic age of 16 or 18) with Ben's child.

Did anyone else think that Richard with his 1970s hair was meant to have an illusory resemblance to Desmond? It was the color of the hair -- so much lighter than Richard's current hair.
