Zoe: What's that, sir? Mal: Freedom, is what. Zoe: No, I meant what's that? Mal: Oh. Yeah. Just step around it. I think something must've been living in here.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I think their first thought was, "Ack! Bullet in Sayid."

Actually, John's first thought seemed to be, "Chessmaster 2000! Cool!"

What is even happening?

Hee.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, while Kate was wandering around looking in the freezer and Locke was all, hey, *I* play chess, the SO was all, Sayid still shot! Get the freaking medical kit.

But anyway, that's not what I came to post. I came to post: That's what this show's been needing all this time--more cowbell!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

The station blowing up was kind of obvious - Kate and Sayid see the C4, Locke's on the computer and it tells him to put in "77" if Hostiles have overrun the station. Obviously, something's going to happen.

Although I was expecting the codes he entered to be THE numbers.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Enjoyed this one.

Locke, I have decided, is a Gnostic. He's lost his faith in the island deity and now he keeps trying to destroy the world - or at least the hatches.

Poor cat. Left in the jungle.

This show kills a lot more women than men, doesn't it?

I'm assuming that the so-called communication with the mainland is B.S. and all anyone has ever gotten from inputting that code is the recording saying the satellite/sonar/whatever is down. Based on nothing.

I don't know. It seems like a good number of women were killed: Ana Lucia, Libby, and at least one of the other tailie women too, right? Then there's Shannon and Boone. Ahem.

There've been a lot of male casualties, but with the exception of Boone and Eko, were there any major male characters killed off? Ethan wasn't really major, nor where whatever guys got knocked off during the last couple of episodes.

I wasn't even thinking major characters. I forgot that pretty much all the Tailie's died, though. I think I am just be remembering the most recent deaths - Miss Clue, Not!Trixie, Mr. Eko, Libby, Ana Lucia, Shannon, Boone, it seems lopsided. But I was forgetting Ethan and the guy in the hole and the Other that Ana Lucia took out after he killed the guy in the hole. And from way back there was Drowned Woman and the pilot. Oh, and the guy that exploded. That seems more even.

Upon actual consideration I retract my kneejerk reaction.

Don't forget Steve. Or was it Scott?

Were Ana Lucia and Libby killed off for story reasons, or because the actresses were DWI?

I don't know. I just know there's speculation, haven't seen anything definitive.

Mr. Eko was killed because the actor wanted to leave the show.

Eta: I should say, the timing of his death was determined by the actor wanting to leave. They may have planned to kill him off and just moved it earlier.
