'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Wow, the refreshing lack of Jack, Sawyer and whats-her-name in an episode almost revived my interest in the show! (At least I stayed awake all the way through it.)

So Desmond has gone from pressing the reset button every couple hours to... saving Charlie's life every day?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

After all the stuff about whether Driveshaft was based on Oasis, it was fun to see Charlie standing on a street corner singing "Wonderwall."

What is even happening?

Finola Hughes is the actor who played Anna on GH. I don't think that was her (unless there are 2 of them, like there are 2 Vanessa Williams).

That was one of the better episodes of this series. Poor Desmond. Poor Charlie (although charlie has been getting on my nerves for some time now).

I thought I saw the name Fionnula Flanagan in the credits, and assumed it was her!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

That's her and she was also in THE OTHERS.

Because books.

Yes!

It was a really good episode -- Drew Goddard, of BtVS and Angel and Alias, wrote it, I think.

Of course, it's a whole new twist on what the island can do, which is again another new question rather than an answer. (And still not enough Hurley or Sayid or Sun.) The teaser for next week -- Answers! -- was sort of eyerolly. We'll see, I guess.

At this point, I expect any answers to be along the lines of "42", except not trying to be funny about it. Which, hey, they kinda have done already (except they seem to have forgotten about the numbers along with most of the cast).

Well, Desmond took note of the numbers last night, when the delivery guy mentioned suite 815.

Locke: You have an answer?

Island: You're really not going to like it.

Locke: Tell us.

Island: The answer to the Great Question...

Locke: Yes?

Island: ...of life, the universe, and everything...

Locke: Yes?

Island: ...is...

Sayid: Yes?

Island: ...is...

Locke, Sayid: *Yes*?

Island: 4 8 15 16 23 42.

[stunned silence]

Locke, Sayid: *4 8 15 16 23 42*?

Island: It was a tough assignment.

Sayid: We're going to need a better island. Maybe with some fjords.
