Network interference in the article doesn't sound too bad -- or, rather, nothing I've not seen before. Anybody remember the Buffy crew having to shoot multiple angle takes of Willow getting out of bed when Tara was in it for The WB, as they didn't like the idea of two women being seen in bed together?
That said, JJ saying business basically comes above creativity is amusing. It's no coincidence he made a big splash in the TV biz, and Joss didn't as much.
I'm not sure I was surprised about network interference as much as I was surprised at JJ and L&C's response to it. Here Stephen King is pretty outraged (and note: I think his tv movies have been straight out trash, so that's somewhat ironic from where I sit) and L&C are like "oh well, this is how it goes."
Abrams leads that attitude, too, from where I sit.
However, I'm not going to argue the point with them for the simple fact they have (had?) the most successful serial drama show on the air in many, many years, so they must be doin' something right. Although maybe the other obvious intepretation is that their inability to fight the net is costing them the show's audience.
Not to make light of an air disaster or anything, but this story about Adam Air Flight 574 took me to a bit of a
Lost
place.
5 + 7 + 4 = 16, which is one of the Numbers!!
And in that vein, the trailer for The Number 23, in which Jim Carrey plays Hurley.
Okay, based on promos I saw during Grey's Anatomy
Lost
comes back next Wednesday in a later time slot. They are going to do an hour-long catch-up thingy at 8 Central and then a new episode at 9 Central.
Sad thing is, that I'm really considering not tuning in. At this point, I could not care less about these people and what happens to them. I think I'll end up reading the TWOP recap instead.
I'll be watching when new eps start again because DH wants to, but my reaction to the promos was basically "Oh right...Lost."
I really think if they stayed on indefinite hiatus, it would have taken me years to realize it.

But you might miss the episode that changes everything?!??!?!
Of course, based on past experience, you could do that watching the episode too.
It's staying in the rotation of Things I Watch mostly out otf inertia, and lack of anything else in that timeslot to force the issue. That said, i'm still hoping that upcoming episodes will get me interested again. And I do have hopes that Desmond will have a strong storyline.
