Definitely like this ep more than the first 2. Things actually kinda happened, plus the return of (semi-)competent Locke is a good thing.
Really though, John, given that if you didn't have bad luck you'd have none at all, is "let's go get our people" a wise course of action?
I liked last night's episode less. I thought the Locke-Boone Sweat Lodge vision was cool, but we've all known John Locke is amenable to coercion, since we learned he got conned out of a kidney by his own father who cared so little for him that he wouldn't even keep up a polite relationship after the con.
Dh knew the fertilizer it was for weed. I thought "bomb." I should have known it wasn't for bombs. Everyone was far too mellow.
Did we ever find out (in the last two seasons) how Locke ended up in that fricking chair in the first place? Maybe I missed it, and if so, some of my disappointment is misplaced. But really, just telling us that story would go a long way in mitigating the feeling that the plan is there is no plan.
No, we didn't. I really thought we were going to this time around.
Do we think that we didn't get a hint that Eko was being eaten by a bear in the season finale because the show wanted to surprise us? Or because the show didn't know that this was what happened to Eko? I'm inclinded towards the latter.

No, and since they didn't go into what happened after Locke let the cop go, I suspect we'll be getting another Locke episode at some point.
I was looking through Natter 27 (which is from a little more than 2 years ago) for something, and came across a
Lost
conversation, starting somewhere after post 6050 (slightly out of order so I don't have to keep copying the quotes-back).
me:
TiVo was relevant to my life for about 6 months.
Betsy:
Maybe you will fall in love with *Lost*.
Kristen:
Just in time for them to cancel it.
me:
That's where the smart money is.
Jess:
I can't honestly see
Lost
lasting more than a season -- I just don't know where it has to
go.
It's not even like they can spice things up by adding new characters (unless another plane crashes on the same island every year around November sweeps or something.)
Kristen:
I think it's easier to be a successful TV show when you don't ever go anywhere.
Jess:
But JJ Abrams is all about the long multiseason arc. And I can't see
Lost
doing the same kinds of resets as
Alias
has been able to -- being stranded on an island, they're in a very finite universe. Eventually, they'll have solved all the mysteries, exposed everyone's secrets, and it'll just be a bunch of bored hungry people sitting around the campfire trying to build a coconut phone.
Allyson:
And cannibalism.
Besty:
Maybe they could put on Hamlet.
Katie M.:
Now I'm imagining the Hamlet that would result from fifty randomly-chosen people digging up their memories of eleventh grade, and I really want to see that episode. Especially if it's a musical.
Other notable comments:
Allyson:
There's a lot of other survivors no one focuses on who will all be sort of red shirts.
MAIN CHARACTER: Let's check out that cave with the bloodstains all around the perimeter.
OTHER MAIN CHARACTER: Yes, I bet there's tivo and a blackberry inside!
RANDOM OTHER SURVIVOR WITH NO SCREEN TIME TIL NOW: Hey! I volunteer!
And so on.
Liese:
I'm going to assume I'm going to hate Lost. Seems easier that way. Less emotional risk. I'll still watch it, but hopefully won't like it. That way it'll stay on the air.
Eventually, they'll have solved all the mysteries, exposed everyone's secrets
HA.
Oh, if only we had known...
If only.
Liese and Kristen are damned near prophetic though, and if you consider the hatch, Allyson's not all that far off.
Crap! A Sawyer flash-back.
Javier!
