I would have liked to see a smaller reaction from Locke. I buy that Henry would have piqued him with that statement, but throwing dishes around just didn't feel in-character for me -- I would have preferred to see it in his eyes during his next conversation with Jack.
This was a great ep. I loved that the flashbacks were all on-island! These were the best integrated flashbacks they've had all season.

Also, we learned stuff we didn't know before. Always a plus. I mean, if I enjoy the actor/character, I don't mind the flashbacks without anything particularly new, but it was nice to get a bunch of new info (and questions, natch). I really like that the raggedy-ass, pirate look is a put-on.
The one thing that will drive me crazy, and Claire was already doing it a bit with her flashbacks, is if they don't tell anybody else about what they've found out. Communicate, people!
It was Kate who found the clothes and fake beard, right? You'd think she'd tell Jack about that, at least, given that they both met Bearded Man at the same time.

Exactly. If she doesn't, my eyes are going to roll out of my head. They will roll even farther away if (a) she tries to tell Jack but he's too obsessed with saving/hiding/confronting something/body busy to listen and/or (b) as a result, when he finally asks what she was going to tell him, she doesn't 'cause she's in a snit about being brushed off. Extra distance on the roll if she doesn't tell anyone because of the above.
The good guys always have communication problems
I think the vaccine is, like the button, a psychological experiment. Tell the people "This will save you from big, bad awfulness", and see what happens. I wonder what the other stations were/are.
Is it possible that Claire's "memories" are a little off?
So, here's my question. Why did the others abandon the infirmary/nursery after Claire escaped? It's not like they've ever been shown to fear the castaways. Quite the opposite, actually. Why are they giving up their territory?
Maybe they were just using it for her. There's a technical term for it--but somewhere that's not their home base, so that she can't track them back to their home base. Once the op is over, they break it down. Use it for some storage, but not much else.
That's fine if the structure is portable, but this one isn't. If it's that expendable, it implies that they have something much better elsewhere.
Or a whole lot of little bunkers.
I liked the ep, but the fact that the beard was fake is sort of bugging me. Actually that's not bugging me in and of itself -- if they want to do some sort of weird raggamuffin pirate schtick to fuck with the poor people who crash landed on their island, for whatever reason, fine.
But the walking half-naked through the jungle with weird cicada noises is making less sense to me now.
