Also, whatever the heiroglyphs mean, they do mean for sure that technically Locke did not get the numbers in on time. He was late by a second or two.
I was SO hoping for an Earth-shattering KABOOM.
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Me too. But apparently instead of "risk all of our lives," Locke should have said "freak us out for a couple of seconds." Whatever.
But time hadn't run out yet.
Really??? Because it looked to me like he was still struggling with early numbers with two seconds left, two seconds passed, then the clock started to go all flippy and heiroglyphic, then he hit enter and everything fixed itself. Is my memory bad? I was sure time had run out.
Of course, it's TV time, so who knows....

That's the way it looked to me, too -- that when the time ran out, the hieroglyphs appeared.
t edit Or, to put it more clearly -- I thought that the hieroglyphs appeared BECAUSE the time ran out.
But it re-set -- the way it normally would.
The daughter and I were discussing this, we're wanking it that not all the hieroglyphs had appeared yet so it reset once Locke entered the numbers. We sure were hoping for more BOOM at zero than what we got.
We're meant to assume that Balloon Guy is one of the Others, right? What with the Stare of Doom at the end there?
Also, can we be sure that whatever happens when the numbers count off didn't happen? Maybe some signal was sent before Locke reset the numbers?
Yeah, I was hoping for a little more than weird symbols.
Crazy!Jack was fun though. Though I was wondering why Locke didn't try to fight him off more than he did.
I wonder if next week we're going to get abduction flashbacks instead of the usual "before the island" ones or both.

God, I hope not. I want Sayid's "I don't feel guilty about torturing him, ergo he must be evil" theory to be ripped to fucking shreds.
Balloon Guy looked familiar and I want to say he played a serial killer in something. I'm leaning towards The Inside, but it could have been Angel.
