Everything looks good from here... Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land.' I think we should call it 'your grave!' Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die! Oh, no, God! Oh, dear God in heaven!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You know what's not a cute way to deal with your project manager? "Well, if you know so much about it, why don't you write it?"

Interesting. Did you grit your teeth and say, "Because it's not. my. job."??

It was about reporting any resistance on his employees' parts. Work-avoider does not know this.

Well, that's somewhat satisfying. Though a slap at the idiot's head and a "grovel before me, peon" might have been more fun, it is a bit less professional.

I took some DayQuil, which is making me breathe easier, but is also making me somewhat dopey, I think. Hmph.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I told the avoider himself that I'd make sure someone got him the information he was missing, and that the document was still due by end of business today.

I skipped over the bit where the information was not missing, just that his co-worker that was out sick hadn't told it to him, and he knew just as well as I did where to go find it. But it took me five minutes to have someone forward it to him, so the ball's back in his court.

And I can go on to my next guaranteed-stressful meeting, feeling sick as a dog.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Mmm.. DayQuil good.

I think I'm getting sick because I coughed twice today and a kid who sits in the front row of class if feverish. I can't afford to be sick. Sick is Teh Evil.

Also, I'm being confronted with 2 things that I don't like and it's generally stressful.

don't these people know I can't stress until after 2 weeks? Or at least until after I finish the damned paper on Dante?

OK, this is an awesome non-Christmassy home light display. [link] The link is to a Windows Media video file with sound.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

subject matter expert

Runs screaming from this phrase.

Sorry, I've been chained to several processes for testing because of that phrase. In fact, I'm currently on one that if it doesn't get done correctly by the end of December will cause major troubles all around. So, SO want to not be on this, but at the same time I only pretty much trust the people who are on this (myself included) to get it right. Meh and Feh.

However, I did get a stellar annual review. We'll see if that actually has anything nice attached to it, but it's always great to be appreciated.

Strange week. This project is just turning into a total time suck, but I had to take half a day for various doctor's appts. on Monday. Including a session with the throat cam at the ENT specialist. I never realized they went in through your NOSE for those. Very uncomfortable and disconcerting experience, I must say.

Eek, Frank. That does sound freaky.

About the DayQuil, this is why I don't like taking medicine. I'd rather have a stuffed up head that feels like it's working, than what I seem to have right now.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

JZ wants me to report that Steven Colbert is on Fresh Air today. I bet Terry's got a crush on him.

Anderson Cooper on Colbert (NOT LIKE THAT) last night was so awesome. They mostly talked about clothes.
