You know, I've saved lives. Dozens. Maybe hundreds. I reattached a girl's leg. Her whole leg. She named her hamster after me. I got a hamster. He drops a box of money, he gets a town.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

All I know about is iTunes's podcast directory, and I don't find it that helpful.

iTunes made some sounds at me like it was loading a directory, but I don't know where it went.

Posts on LJ yesterday inspired (that's a big word for a little thing) me to make a playlist of cover songs. The effort underscored why I'm not in the music thread. Man, I know crap all about music. Lots of guessing and web searching, just to come up with 14.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Doesn't the new Bornean carnivore look like some sort of lemur (the round head) or ring-tailed cat?

How to make your own robotic M&M sorter: [link]

Identifying color is easy with the new Texas Advanced Optical Systems (www.taosinc.com) TCS230 frequency to color sensor. This is a high-sensitivity low-noise light-to-voltage optical converter that incorporates on board blue, green, and red optical filters. The sensor combines a photodiode and an amplifier on a single monolithic CMOS integrated circuit with a color filter over the photodiode. What’s really neat about this sensor is that it provides standard RGB color values with 90% accuracy!

I wonder if it will work with Skittles?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

You just know some local guy is going to look at the "discovery" and be all, "Yeah, those are good with this mango/chili chutney my mother always made..."

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

back at work and started right off with two phone meetings. At least I was able to get breakfast during one of them. First days back always suck. Too many people talking to me on too many different things.

And wow, there was a several hour delay in that first part and this. I am teaching myself MS Project. Anyone can help?

Random people keep asking me for random help!

Now you know what it's like to be me!

I'm so sorry.

This is among the strangest animations I've seen (shockwave): [link]

Some fan-created thing that has an animated Michael Jackson show up in a bunch of different video games. He dances and kicks ass, while strange, non-Jackson music plays.

I love the Japanese....

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

So far today, no one (random or otherwise) has asked me for help. This might make me happier if it weren't my job to have people ask me for help.

I did have a pretty good morning though. I got to go back to sleep, and got to go have a sit down breakfast that I ate almost half of, and didn't throw up, and then I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to look for a humidifier, which I didn't find, but I did find a nice throw rug for $5, and some of my Secret Santa gift.
