Giles: I'm sure we're all perfectly safe. Dawn: We're safe. Right. And Spike built a robot Buffy to play checkers with. Tara: It sounded convincing when I thought it.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Despite large financial woes, I decided to be completely irresponsible and go on a shopping spree for new clothes.

And not practical clothes. Fuck that. I never have anything pretty to wear and I'm tired of wearing the same shit everytime I want to look pretty.

I purchased: A leather jacket (a bit past my hips, button down) with a pink silky lining, a silk blouse in a lovely shade of baby blue, a dark rose colored v-neck sweater, liz claiborne jeans, a sexy halter in washed out rose with pink sequin stripes, a sexy halter in this indescribable blue with a handbeaded design thingy on it, a new black hoodie, with silvery beads along the edges, and a new bra.

Total? A hair under $300.00. I bargain hunted, picked through piles of last season's shit at Macy's, and then there was a kerfuffle at the register and I helped the saleslady maintain caalm so she gave me her family and friends 20% discount on my already sale-priced and clearance stuff. I saved about $175.00.

And I have beautiful things to wear.

I kept tags and receipts in case panic sets in tomorrow.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Allyson, that's quite a ton of stuff. Go you!

I just called Kristen to have her calm me down because I'm having irresponsibility panic.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Are you going to wear them and love them, Allyson? Knowing they'll get used and live happily with you should help ease the panic. Keeping the receipts should too.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Good on you, Allyson.

Beth, you seem to be having a lot of accidents tonight.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy crap, Allyson, you got some deals. Yay pretty things! I need a ton of new clothes.

oh yes. The hoodie is sketchier in this regard. But everything else? I have pretty things to wear again...and aside from the leather and the hoodie, none of it is black. My mom would be so happy.

I need new clothes! But I'm waiting until January, I swear.

Unless the perfect stuff leaps out and accosts me.

Which rarely happens in LA, so I should be safe.

eta:

I have pretty things to wear again...

Dude, keep it. Economise somewhere else.

Me too!

Because not doing school work at home is much better than not doing school work out shopping.

There's that. If you're going to have guilt twinges, it's best not to compound things.

Me, I just plan to have my normal body back by January.
