How much sick time to folks get per year?

I get thirteen days personal leave, usable as sick or vacation. I also get Federal holidays, though, which makes it a tad better.

We have what's called full time accounting, which means we can't take leave and work on the same day, technically. However, you can take a portion sick and a portion vacation. Which seems crazy to me, but vacation days are more precious to me than sick. If I had kids or lots of appointments, I'd probably appreciate it.

7 sick days, 15 vacation days, 2 Personal Holidays (like...Green Day). They can roll over, but only up to a maximum plateau (25 days of vacation for me, 13 sick days). At my job you can only cashout your accrued unused vacation/Personal Holiday time. Not the sick leave.

JZ has unlimited sick leave accrual which she'll exploit whenever she needs to take maternity leave.

We have Paid Time Off, which is sick and vacation time combined, as well as a varying number of floating holidays (depends on when holidays like July 4th land during the week). Employees with under five years of employment here get 20 PTO days, 5-9 years 25 days, and 10 and up get 30 days (the most available). PTO can be taken in increments of one hour up to eight per day (which is great for those with appointments, etc., in the middle of the day), but floaters can only be taken as a whole day off.

I've been here 13 years as of yesterday, so I got 30 days (I've taken 29 1/2 so far) plus the 3 floaters (all of which I still have).

ETA: We can no longer roll any of this over, so if I don't take the 3 1/2 days, I'll lose them completely.

I have 18 sick days, 19 vacation days. (We also have short term and long term disability leave, which does not affect your sick time.) I also work a modified work week and get every third monday off, which can be moved around a little. According to the rules, you can't bank MWW days, but people do, if they have a sympathetic boss.

ETA: And there are 11.5 holidays we also get paid time off for. Non union people only get paid for 5 or 6 of them.

My father had unlimited vacation accrual, and when he retired (read: returned as a contractor at a higher rate) he had a year's accumulated, for which they had to pay him.

Government. Hmmph.

I accrue four hours of sick time a month (15 days max)...I wonder how much I have left.

There was a whole article in Readers Digest this month about government workers who retire and cash out their accrued time. Some of it was twice what they yearly salaries were.

We need to join a Buffistas union. No one is allowed to be annoying, offensive, or frustrating, and it is mandated we spend at least 5 hours on the board.

I gave notice finally! So I will work my ass off in January, but then be free FREE! to do school work all Spring. Or, you know, screw around here.
