Mal: How come you didn't turn on me, Jayne? Jayne: Money wasn't good enough. Mal: What happens when it is? Jayne: Well... that'll be an interesting day.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Some. The hot makes up for it.

IIRC, Dr. Pepper started out as a patent medicine.

I'm patiently NOT KILLING the people who are making me crazy. That's part of rocket ship building.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

On the notice they left, they've indicated that they need to deliver it IN PERSON.

Sounds like typical UPS to me. I've had this problem before, and it's based on who sent it out, not on who's receiving it. Basically, Apple said UPS couldn't just leave it without getting a signature.

That said, if you have a tracking number, you can get them to hold it at one of their locations and you can pick it up. Unless you get stuff delivered to you at work, and only then if your work has regular UPS delivieries/pickups, UPS is a major PIA.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

from an HR standpoint that you should NOT NOT NOT go to work sick.

oooh, that's interesting. And makes me feel better. My boss emailed me and told me to stop worrying about work and to get better. That also made me feel better.

I realize now, since I'm writing about it, that retail has totally shaped the way I think about calling in sick. And anytime I've called in, it was greeted with suspicion and hatred.

We've been forced to work through blizzards in case someone with a snowplow wants to rent a movie at 11:30 at night. We were kids for fuck sake. My mom used to go apeshit about risking my life for Blockbuster.

Retail is evil.

IRL, I guess I'd use "suede feel." Or "sueded"??

I can't look at that word any more. It's worse than when I had to type up the survey results that used the word "likely" a hundred times.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I like Lori's suggestion or Suede-feel. Or...Suavely Suedified.

I think being a professional gambler would be harder than grinding it out at a job I hated every day. Too much stress.

Eh, Phil's not very stressed at all. To the contrary. But he doesn't try to beat the house, just fleece the pigeons.

It's raining. I don't have to go to work, right?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
