AUUGHHHH! NOT nice! Not nice at all! It looks like someone castrated the Big Red Rock Demon.
Laura, it's nice to have you back.

wow
that's pretty amazing. I think the thing that makes that cake is " happy Birthday Mom "
Oh my god, the penis cake killed me.
It reminds me of this story: my sisters and mom were at a wedding shower. There was a cake decorated with little chocolate penises. My parents are pretty religious, sex was not mentioned in our house, but my mom was eating the ones off her cake, not saying anything. The next day my sisters were telling me about the shower, and they mentioned the penises, and my mother looks shocked and says, "Oh my god!!! I thought they were little SQUIRRELS!"
Um, do the nuts have nuts? Is that why the nuts are all...pebbly?
That cake is brilliant. I was expecting the standard bridal-shower thing. Great write-up too.
I wonder what flavour the cake was. Not sure why that makes a difference, but one does wonder about the creamy filling.
I'm normally leery about googling medical issues, but I wanted some indication of the usefulness of seeking different levels of medical care for migraines and/or head injuries. Cleared up one thing -- those silly flashy lights that I started seeing last week were totally auras. D'oh.
Kingfishers! I haven't seen kingfishers in ages. I was on my way home from the grocery store when I spotted these guys looking for their own dinner.

It's mentioned in the text. Lemon with raspberry filling or something.
white cake with buttercream frosting and raspberry jam with lemon custard as filling
Aha. So it is.
Odd how a gnarly penis can drive the details from your brain. Does that description mean the jam is underneath the frosting?
Great pictures, dcp! I don't believe I've ever seen kingfishers in the wild, I'm not sure if we get them around here.
I've seen double fillings between layers -- the custard could be firm enough to glop on the raspberry jam, or else you could use three layers....
