Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Thanks, Allyson.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Babies? I need those.

Sadly, I don't know if they make them in adult human size.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Well, as I like to say, "With the help of the accomplished holy sages, who are worthy to be worshipped by the lords of the world, and of their disciples and disciples' disciples, who constitute the well-known series of preceptors, I glean from the great ocean of the knowledge of numbers a little of its essence, in the manner in which gems are picked from the sea, gold is from the stony rock and pearl from the oyster shell; and give out according to the power of my intelligence."

Okay, that wasn't me at all (it was Mahavira). But I'd like to have said it!

What Betsy said. I understand feeling like this is another randomly generated media panic... but H5N1 is finally getting coverage because CDC and WHO and OIE have been trying to get people here to pay attention for two years now.

It is not just some birds with the sniffles; the mortality rate in birds is nearly 100%. They usually die within a day. And then mammals, including humans, eat the dead birds, and they die. The fact that it kills so quickly might be the main thing that's kept it from spreading a lot faster. Which is not entirely comforting.

Especially not when people live so close together in so many places and travel so fast, what with the modern conveniences.

That said, though, my local news just promised "everything you need to know about bird flu, from flu shots to Thanksgiving dinner!!" Neither of which has anything to do with anything.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Apropos of absolutely nothing....

Oh my god
Becky, look at her butt
It's so big
She looks like one of those rap guys girlfriends
Who understands those rap guys
They only talk to her because she looks like a total prostitute
I mean her butt
It's just so big
I can't believe it's so round
It's just out there
I mean, it's gross
