Get some rest, sarameg. That is a hellish trip back.
And, for the record, I don't blame you for my plague.

The mom and kid were recovering from same plague. So I'm not the only typhoid mary. I learned a new trick, though. Befriend a preboarder who you like and who likes to sit in your preferred location. They'll save you a seat.
I helped her schlep kid and stuff around at the outset, so she save me a seat on the first flight AND the later one. We bonded. Funnily enough, I think she's good people. She wants to take me to dinner for helping out, which is sweet.
PS, I watched Grey's Anatomy this morning and am SO VERY RELIEVED I didn't break it. Whew.
Bed. Is over there.
Cat is yelling. Won't let me be.
Hey, as long as I get up in time to pick up the other cat, right?
Good trick. ::takes notes::
My mom informed me that she is sick-ish now too. I fear I am typhoid Cass. I don't want to call the others to find out how infectious I was.
Does anyone know of interesting sites for dream interpretation and translation? I'm not looking for all of life's answers, just there are recurring themes and I am curious as to what they are supposed to represent.
I am awake because my throat hurts. I'm sort of okay about it, except for the part where my eyes won't quite focus. I think they'd rather be asleep.
Dana, if you can't sleep, can you just lie down and rest your eyes, at least?
People have to stop being sick! Both on b.org and in the room here - one student just finished being sick and another one began. I feel like there's a target drawn on my back, with an arrow that says "Viruses, here! Germs, here, as well!".
And this is how you take a post that tries to be about comforting somebody and make it all about meMeME.

I lay awake in bed for about an hour after I woke up. I got bored.
I am not sick, at least. This is fairly typical allergy attack, probably brought on by the trip to New Orleans. God knows what's growing there. And it should clear up by next week, which is when we have Christmas concerts.
Rehearsal tonight should be interesting, though.
I got bored.
I can imagine, after an hour. Sigh. But it's good to read that you're not sick.

How was it to be there? (Sorry if you've already talked about it. I'm very much of the skipper lately).

Good timing.
How was it to be there?
I hadn't mentioned it -- we just got back Sunday.
It was fine, I guess. The whole thing is too big to comprehend, so I can only really focus on what's happening with my family. My dad and a couple of his brothers worked on the downstairs story of the house, trying to get the wiring done, so as not to have to pay a contractor to do it. They hope to have power restored to the house soon, and it sounds like things are moving along. Windows and doors are scheduled to be delivered, and I think the next step is sheetrock.
The problem will apparently be getting gas service restored. Without gas, they don't have heat or hot water, and that's not really feasible in winter, even New Orleans winter. No idea really when that might happen, so things are still up in the air, especially since they have to move out of the apartment they're in by January, when the students who usually rent it return to college.

I guess that this was pretty much what I was asking, as well. I, from so far away, and without any of the emotional connections, can't comprehend what happened to that city. I can't imagine how it may be for people like you, or even more, to people like -t.

Oh, good for them. And how impressive it is that they manage to do it on their own, too.

Aren't there any electric heating devices that they can use? Or will that be more expenses, when that's difficult, already?
No idea really when that might happen
This is probably a dumb question, but I have no idea what's going on in NO lately, since none of the Israeli news programs talk about it anymore: what is being done to help the citizens? Any sort of national organized help?
