Sir? I'd like you to take the helm, please. I need this man to tear all my clothes off.

I can't write about it because you'll accuse me taunting msbelle.

Tommy, what did the eye doctor say?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

OK.

Tommy, what did the eye doctor say?

She didn't think the blockage was that bad, and that inflamation was the cause of the blurriness. They took a bunch of pictures of my eyes with a computer, then injected a dye into my bloodstream (that made everything look bright pink!) and took more pictures. She said that blood appears to be flowing normally, which is good.

So there's still the issue of what is causing the inflamation. She thought I should get an MRI right away, so that's gonna happen Sat morning (7:00!). She said there's a chance there could be a tumor behind the eye that's putting pressure on the back of the eye, or some other thing (I forget) that the MRI would catch. If it's either of those, it's still early enough that the problem can be treated. But she doesn't think it's anything like that - the MRI is just to "rule stuff out."

After I get the MRI results, she'll talk to me about my prognosis. But things are looking better (I think). (But not literally "looking better," except I have fewer floaters than last week.)

Thanks for asking.

Ack, Tommy. I hope she can figure this out. It's a dreary way to spend a holiday weekend, though. I'll be thinking about you.

Thanks.

Anyway, if I understood her correctly, the chance of my vision improving is a lot better than the other ophthalmologists thought.

Damn, so now I've seen three ophthalmologists (including a retina specialist), an optomotrist and a regular doctor. Also, a dentist, but that's unrelated. I think.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Good luck with the MRI, tommy.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Save Tom's eyeballs!

I'm having television cognitive dissonance. Flipped around and caught the generic sitcom Standing Still. It has: Sam from Freaks and Geeks in it. The evil corporate shrew from Slings and Arrows. Jami Gertz from Square Pegs. And it looks like the bar dude from Love & War (a not particularly good show, but I liked it when they brought Annie Potts on as Dana Palladino. Really good female characters there with Joanna Gleason and Suzi whassername, the Vulcan gal.)

It's disorienting. Not as disorienting as watching Jason Siegel and Allyson Hannigan have excellent comedic chemistry though.
