The weather outside is horrible. Yuck, yuck, yuck.
Everyone should order in for lunch, unlike me.

I don't know if my family could have Thanksgiving without running out and shopping the morning of.

I know! I know every store that will be open within 10 miles, and the hours.

Yeah, same here.
I had homemade chili for lunch, it was so good.
Grocery stores being closed on Thanksgiving, granted it sucks working on Thanksgiving, but so many people come in at the last minute needing more oil to fry their turkey, or they were short some vegetables or needed more butter or milk. Or the misguided soul who came in looking for a turkey to cook that day.
Oh dear. I suppose if I'm going to take something with, I'd better make sure I get it beforehand.
Because I'm always that organized. Thanks, Shaw's. Thanks for snitching.
granted it sucks working on Thanksgiving,
Yeah, but they're getting double pay and, frankly, I'd do it! It can't be that busy, you get paid extra, and I don't really have anything to do (well, this year I do, but in general...).
Many of the state's Puritan-era blue laws, passed in the 1600s to keep colonists at home or in church on Sundays, have been repealed, such as a ban of liquor sales on Sundays. But one that remains in effect requires all stores, except convenience stores and gas stations, to close on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
Wow, those puritans were prescient. They not only predicted the thanksgiving holiday, they also predicted gas stations!
I have completed my Thanksgiving shopping! (HA -- like that's actually true. But at least I've completed the bits I was clever enough to think of in advance. I'm sure there will be several "SHIT, we forgot the ____" in the next 2 days.)
Frozen spinach has been procured, as has a disposable camera, since both DH and I managed to leave our cameras at home. We = flaky.

I have a friend who keeps his bakery open until 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, based on the knowledge that a LOT of people will come frantically searching for pie and bread around about 5 p.m. He's right, and he makes a mint every year.
