Oh! I have a dilemma. I have a pass for a free screening of Rent tonight. Awesome, right? Except, the screening is at 6pm and I work until 5. The last time I went to go to one of these things, it was a movie that I had never heard of and didn't even look that good, and getting there 45 minutes ahead of time meant I was too late to get in. So the odds I'd even get in are slim. And I still have a paper to write and an apartment to clean by tomorrow evening.
Last week we were 45 minutes early for our Rent screening and a whole bunch of people didn't get in. There was a lot of press.

A user just emailed me a request, and then walked over to my cube to ask me if I did it, and he got here before the email arrived.
I hate people who do this. I hate them a lot. I hate them even more when they sent me a ginormous request which will take hours, and then proceed to harass me about it every fifteen minutes. I'm always tempted to ask them if they have nothing to do, and if so, would they like me to remedy that.
Tom, hit that jackhole with your keyboard.
Well, the critic are raving about Rent: [link]
I'm sure it won't be OMG AWESOME, but you know I don't care. Also, I love free. But no! No free for me!!
GA: Was THAT the "
brave gay
" character? I totally didn't even notice it. I can't believe that they chose to promote that anywhere.

You mean,
sitting around waiting for people to show up while starving and then having to leave before he and his bf even get a bit to eat. . . you know they really should have had them take a plate with them.

Hey, in the Village Voice this week (and I can't find the article on line) there was a story of abortion as TV's last taboo blah de blah and the author said that
Christina decided not to go through with it after dealing with the lady with the miracle pregnancy. Does anybody else remember it that way? I was pretty sure the whole "you're my person" exchange was POST miracle pregnancy. I mean, nice premise for an article and they DID cop-out in the end, but at least the character (true to character) never decided to not abort (at least as I remember it)
