Tara: What's so bad about them coming here? Aren't they good guys? I mean, Watchers, that's just like whole other Gileses, right? Buffy: Yes! They're scary and horrible!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The actors are very good on AD, but they're very good at being annoying characters. I don't care for any of them (even though I have a newfound Bateman crush, I think his character should have done the AZ thing).

if I move anywhere it'd be cali

Excellent. I mean, if you're going to be a bottom feeder, superflous is kindest on the conscience, right?

Trying Sherlock Holmes and the Silk Stockings instead.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Do they do postdocs in his field, or is it straight to position? (just overly curious about other fields.)

Straight to.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

In my dante class we got into an argument about altruism and I totally thought of Bob.

I also used the word phlebotnum to explain something Dante did that was totally inconsistent. And I accused him doing "Dantean handwaving." I would have used retcon but I didn't want to expose any fannish relationships because they already think I'm a nerd.

I saw someone who looked kind of like Bob dressed up as a Carrot in the Holiday Parade of Light.

Question for the hivemind: My doctor is sending me for a bunch of tests, including a fasting blood glucose test. However, she neglected to tell me how long I have to fast. I googled and have found times between anywhere from 6-10 hours. So I'm going with the ten, just to be safe. But does anyone know if I can drink water during the fast? I really want to do this tomorrow morning, so the results can be ready for my next doctor's appt.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Sue, all my fasting glucose tests have included the instructions, "nothing to eat or drink after midnight". My test times have always been between 8-9 a.m.

Thanks Cash. The blood collection place opens at 7, but I don't expect to be there before 8.

Oh fuck. I'm now at the center of a fight between my brother and his wife. See, mom really wants to have D (my nephew) out for a visit. Given that SIL takes D to her parents for a couple weeks at a time because she and brother just need time off to deal with stuff, you'd think it was no big deal. So mom proposes at some point that I fly to B'ham, stay a couple of days then fly out to parents with D.

SIL FLIPS THE FUCK OUT. I mean, I know why. She's really really close to her family and doesn't like change AT ALL. Not sane, but...

And now my brother is royally pissed off at his wife. And bitching to me.

I like my SIL, but I know her triggers and don't so much like those. She's.... high strung on certain things. It's annoying,

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
