Lorne: You know what they say about people who need people. Connor: They're the luckiest people in the world. Lorne: You been sneaking peeks at my Streisand collection again, Kiddo? Connor: Just kinda popped out.

Are you ready to be strong?

Can I just wedge in here for a sec to ask what "The Nice One" refers to?

OKthxbye.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Heh. Whatever it comes from, with Bitches somehow becoming kerfuffle central the past few weeks, it seems to have been prophetic.

The bills will keep coming, even if you do not want the items offered.

If I don't want the items offered, I won't sign up for the service, or I will cancel it. Then the bills will stop. Again, that's up to me. I can cancel and re-sub at will with Netflix with no penalty. That's part of why I like it. Up to me to make sure I do it intelligently to maximize my dollar and the rental period it covers.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

If they're providing a service you don't want, stop buying the service.

Actually, I never started, but I take your point.

I don't see why you're mad at them for having some stupid consumers.

I'll just let that one sit there.

you haven't actually explained the lack of ownership angle. Do they not own the DVDs?

That one was very weak. My point was about them being a distribution channel, rather than a creator, and I presented it in a lame way.

Always Anti-fascist!

Jen, sadly, seasons one and two of Homicide are short...that's why the one box. Because being a network exec, like crime, makes one stupid. Which is sad because they are the best, imo. (Are you not getting A&E's sets?)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yeah, I was signed up for Netflix. After awhile, I realized that I really only have time to watch three or four movies a month, which was nowhere near enough to make it seem worth it. So I cancelled. Simple as that.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So let's see where we stand:

One: They lie. They have different fulfilment schedules for people who use the service to the maximum of the agreement they have uttered, versus the people they are trying to rope in.

They don't -- cf Terms of Use.

Two: They attempt to rope people into agreements that are onerous. Pay the sum every month, even if it is not a good deal.

I haven't seen you provide any evidence of them a) roping, b) being onerous that aren't easily countered by not buying what you don't want.

Three: None of the stuff they offer really belongs to them.

No evidence that they haven't bought the DVDs they rent.

Any other reasons they're the Bad Guys?

Always Anti-fascist!

I think there are some DVDs from say, Sundance, that they do have some kind of exclusive with, actually.

The name is dumb.

On 2.a: (Roping) A free month on the more-expensive plan, with an automatic enlistment.

On 2.b: Automatic enlistment.

Tell me more about the more-expensive plan enlistment, please. I've been a customer of theirs for years, and I'm not aware of it. Not that Netflix needs my help, but you're lobbing a lot of accusation and much less evidence.
