Oh, I wish those council guys would let me have an hour alone in the room with her, if I was larger and had grenades.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's what I did last night! Well, not the drinking port part of it. But I watched goth videos and ate dark chocolate. And sewed lace trim on a velvet skirt.

An evening well spent! Isn't that Dead Can Dance video ridiculously lush? I expect there might be some squeeage when you get to the Adam Ant videos.

I thought everybody went to find some dark chocolate (anyway, that's what I did).

[Edited even though one can fund dark chocolate, and maybe that's what you should do with your credit card]

brillig

Jilli, there's a new cell phone ad (from the company with the "Can you hear me now?" guy) that features a cute goth boy. Dad walks in and tells his family he's gotten everyone on The Network. To Mom and Daughter: "When you're at the mall, you're on the network." He turns and says, "And when you go", and Son at the fridge turns and reveals himself to be in Goth Mode, with spiked hair, eye-liner, pale skin, etc. Dad continues "to wherever you go." The ad closes with Son dancing at a club, and one of the crowd of cell phone support guys is dancing along till "Can You Hear Me" guy glares at him.

Goths go mainstream. Ish.

I had never seen it before! It was beautiful.

I expect there might be some squeeage when you get to the Adam Ant videos.

Well, yes. But not as much squeeage as the Bauhaus video for "Ziggy Stardust" caused, because while I adore Fop!Adam, Peter Murphy in a cage. IJS.

Awww! So cute! I haven't seen that ad, but I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

I thought everybody went to find some dark chocolate (anyway, that's what I did).

It's not a bad plan, I must admit.

Art Crawl!!!

I'm still catching up over in Bitches.

So I braved the 20-something degree weather with the giant gusts of wind and came back with the wrong prescription. I mean, it was a prescription for something I take but not only could I swear that I had handed over the correct thing (for nasal spray) but I no longer have the scrip in my purse.

So I called in for another but felt so lousy after my sojourn in the cold that I haven't picked it up yet. I spent the afternoon on the couch huddled under my warmest blankie feeling like crap. To think that yesterday I thought this cold was going bye-bye.

I think you're going to like the Damned videos with Dave Vanian in his long haired, pirate shirt mode. It rates highly for Pretty and Over the Top Gothness and Sexy.

Also, I think you may be underrating Adam. He moves tremendously well. He's a sexy beast and has a sense of humor too. Plus the women are often in elaborate period costume.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all !

It's rainy and cold here. Bleah.(though I suppose it's more normal weather for this time of year than we've been having. I still don't like it.)

Yeah, I did stop sewing to stare fixedly at the screen for the whole of "Shadow of Love".

o, I think you may be underrating Adam.

Nuh-uh! It's just that I've seen "Prince Charming" (and love it to bits) a fair number of times, whereas I've seen the "Ziggy Stardust" video exactly once before last night. So there was the novelty factor, in addition to Peter Murphy in a cage.
