Rupert Murdoch is nothing if not an opportunist. He's just as fawning to the Communists in China as he is to the Republicans, because it's good for business.

Indeed - wasn't he a "liberal" once upon a time? Definitely a man who wants to know which way the wind blows.

Let's not forget the Wash Times, while unquestionably deeply conservative, is owned by the Moonies, not the GOP.

bon bon beat me to it, but despite their towing the Republican line, I could see Rev. Moon (or whoever's in charge of the Moonies - is Moon still alive?) being a little leery of someone else, especially a president, claiming to have God's cell phone number. That would probably go double if there was any sign of a potential meltdown.

I need lunch. What should I have for lunch?

me, I'm having singapore noodles with beef, chicken and pork. I am starving, so I'm wondering if I should get a soup, too.

Ah lunch porn.

I had a piece of buttermilk fried chicken and a small roasted corn chowder. God I love the salad/food bar at Whole Foods. Despite their current campaign to demolish the Brown Derby.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

There is white stuff falling from the sky.

me too. unfortunately, I always get to the register and fall over in shock with it's $9. But it's so. damn. good. I would love to have one near my office. healthy food, good variety. now, my choices are McD's, Subway, chinese, jamaican, or Five Guys Burgers. or the cafeteria. *shudder*

More bodies are being found in New Orleans, this time by their relatives. The authorities stopped looking a month ago.

I had a ham and havarti sandwich. At 10:30. No idea why I was hungry so early.

I'll regret it around 3.

I couldn't believe the range of stuff they had - I'd shopped at them before, but I'd never checked the ready-to-eat stuff until this one went in two blocks away from work. Granted, it is pricey (though their soup prices are no worse than, say, Au Bon Pain - one of which is going into the same block as the Whole Foods), but damn, you can put together quite a varied lunch for the price if you just take a little something of several things.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I'm having leftovers from last night's dinner: burritos with black beans & sweet potatoes. Plus an apple.

At the moment I'm psyching myself up to call the Simmons financial aid office and find out what they're planning to give me for next semester. I don't know if it's just the usual phone phobia or if I'm really worried that they're going to reject my application, but for some reason I have butterflies in my stomach about this.
