I'm guessing "best ever" comes from a longtime GG watching stance, because I only thought it was fine (and, in fact, didn't like the Lorelai-Rory interaction until after she slept with Dean because I liked how it made things change).

That may just have been the best GG episode ever.

Yes -- it was an excellent GG - did you think that the guy at the Gazette was not going to hire Rory because Mitch had blackballed her ? Because I totally thought that so was pleasantly surprised when she got the job.

I must admit when Emily and Lorelai were in the plane -- that I was thinking come on Lorelai - hug your mom! Because she just seemed so broken. Also, I am really not happy that Christopher is popping back into their lives.

I'm irritated at both Christopher and Luke's daughter for throwing wrenches into something I don't want there to be wrenches in. Don't Luke and Lorelai have enough of their own issues to work out without other people butting in? Come ON, world! Give them a CHANCE!

I feel bad for Emily on one hand but it's not like she didn't get herself into this situation. She convinced herself that she had a brand-new, better Lorelai, and she made all of the same mistakes that she made the first time around.

The scene with Richard and Colin and Finn cracked me up. I love the two of them. Although it was interesting that Logan wasn't around -- out of town? are they still fighting and not reconciled?

Well, I never thought that Luke and Lorelai actually would get married. Also, I liked how the daughter has NO IDEA what a huge bomb she's like exploded in Luke's life. (Or in the lives of the other two possible fathers.)

The Washington Times, you may know, is an "independent" newspaper that is basically the mouthpiece of the Republican party. For that reason, it sometimes gets inside scoops as to what the GOP is thinking, and even what's going on inside the White House. For that reason, their latest story on Bush is extremely disturbing:

President Bush feels betrayed by several of his most senior aides and advisors and has severely restricted access to the Oval Office, administration sources say. The president's reclusiveness in the face of relentless public scrutiny of the U.S.-led war in Iraq and White House leaks regarding CIA operative Valerie Plame has become so extreme that Mr. Bush has also reduced contact with his father, former President George H.W. Bush, administration sources said on the condition of anonymity.

Matt Drudge adds on his site:

The sources said Mr. Bush maintains daily contact with only four people: first lady Laura Bush, his mother, Barbara Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Undersecretary of State Karen Hughes. The sources also say that Mr. Bush has stopped talking with his father, except on family occasions.

So basically Bush is melting down. (Or, at the very least, the number one propaganda organ of the GOP wants us to think Bush is losing it - that's just bizarre on its face, and shows had bad things are for Bush, and the party.) This is rather disturbing in view of the increased chatter about Bush, an alcoholic who never sought treatment, now reportedly drinking again.

Are Colin and Finn Rory's friends? I thought their presence bode well for the Rory/Logan relationship.

the 6 month glucose test had me with dietary diabetes level (it was a 6 something and last year it was a 1 something - so my system is totally protesting the abuse.

The A1C test? My target figure is anything below 7, the farther the better. I didn't think 1 was possible.

I agree with you, ita. I think that Rory only knows Colin & Finn through Logan. I imagine that once again, Logan was away on his father's business.
