Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Always Anti-fascist!

It might actually be better. So many pages, and the glayvin.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If Dr. Seuss wrote for Star Trek: The Next Generation...

Picard: Sigma Indri, that's the star,
So, Data, please, how far? How far?

Data: Our ship can get there very fast
But still the trip will last and last
We'll have two days til we arrive
But can the Indrans there survive?

Picard: LaForge, please give us factor nine.

LaForge: But, sir, the engines are offline!

Picard: Offline! But why? I want to go!
Please make it so, please make it so!

Riker: But sir, if Geordi says we can't,
We can't, we mustn't, and we shan't,
The danger here is far too great!

The whole thing's pretty funny. Written in '95.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Juliana, much strength to you in your new directions.

There was a verbal cancellation of a meeting at 9am this morning at a different site, but the meeting owner hasn't cancelled it on the system. Why must people confuse me so?

Off we go...

serial:

Well, I decided that this guy's meeting track record was sufficiently poor that I'd stay at my desk. It's not like I haven't been calling and e-mailing him for half an hour to find out the meeting status.

So unrelatedly: iPod vibrator. Like they weren't sexy enough before.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Move-ma for juliana (specifically hassle-free-move-ma). I hate moving in the same town or state; I can't even begin to ponder the thought of 2000 miles into the quasi-unknown.

The 9am meeting was just cancelled. Let it not be said I don't learn.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Also, we say "let one year end with its curses and a new year begin with its blessings". This is what I wish for you now.

What Nilly said, Juliana.

Happy Birthday, ChiKat!

I just took my baby girl to daycare for the first time. She's fine. I think I'm more upset than she is. I have a few last-minute errands, and then I start my new job this afternoon. Normally I'll be doing full days, standard hours, but the person I'm replacing works half days on Mondays, so we decided there was no point in my going in until she gets there.
