"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I would go. Our org has an annual meeting, this year at a resort, and while at first I was dreading it because I'm very set in my ways, but now, I've just kinda let it go and have decided to bring some books, my knitting and the iPod that way I can be a recluse if I want to.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I wouldn't go either, Sophia, but my judgment in these things is suspect. I wouldn't even need a cat, or the other people's families, or it being two days.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

The only reason for going would be to make sure big boss isn't upset with me, which is a distinct possibility. She plans all year for these things, and thinks they are a great added value to our job...

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

The only reason for going would be to make sure big boss isn't upset with me, which is a distinct possibility.

Maybe you could send shrift in your place...

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Or take Shrift as your date.

See, with shrift there it would be fun, because I know that I could hole up in my room and watch dvd's of tv shows. And talk about slash or vids or something. This is a "family fun weekend"

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Are they actually calling it a "family fun weekend"? If so, I definitely wouldn't go, as that would really bug me.

I was hoping from the zap2it article that we'd get to see the rest of KC.
