"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I'm not sure which. It's the stuff that would go on top of a hot apple crumble.

Thrive to spite them

We have one issue to vote on and it's our first mail in vote so it's confusing a lot of people.

The issue is should the city have a stake in the coal plant that will most likey be built in the neighboring county? If the City opts to be in it would have a 20% stake. The city has spent a lot of money sending around flyers "debunking" coal plant myths. The City's position is voting yes will get us a 20% say in what happens!

Opponets of the plan are saying -- coal is icky and 20% doesn't buy a lot of influence.

Then there are the "I'm an environmentalist and I agree with coal" vs "I think environmentalists are a bunch of liberal nutjobs and I oppose the vote."

I use recall several times a month. Sometimes the email I sent has to have dates changed or what not. But I also have read reciepts enabled so I can tell who I'm going to have successful recalls with.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Then there are the "I'm an environmentalist and I agree with coal" vs "I think environmentalists are a bunch of liberal nutjobs and I oppose the vote."

Then there's opposition from the Children's Christmas Stockings lobby.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I needed to find the text for a Cincinatti ballot issue for work

Would that be the "City Council Should Have to Vote on Their Pay Raises So That It's on the Record, Rather Than Just Giving Themselves Raises" issue?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I need to fill in my ballot so we can drop it off after I pick Paul up from work. (Saves us a stamp that way--the best of absentee and regular voting all in one.)

I still think The Girl Who Pretended to be a Boy is the best fairytale ever. [link] I have even made my peace with the part where the girl's gender is actually switched so she can marry the princess. As a child, I wanted the gay marriage, damn it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have e-mailed my response to Portland Man. It was reasonable and restrained.

Then I got an Out Of Office reply from him.

I wonder what I should do with the rest of my day now?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Bird's Eye, I'm thinking, Vortex. The good stuff.

People -- you need to talk more. I'm cold, and I'm bored, and I can't surf the web aimlessly.

I pimped Profit at krav yesterday (I made it half the way through a stretch class -- I'm such a machine), and a guy who'd given up on Firefly during Shindig has decided to give disc 2 another chance. I've been dubbed the Netflix of the centre.

Right, folks. Talk. Go.

Then there's opposition from the Children's Christmas Stockings lobby.

That reminds me it's about time for the annual fight over Christmas and the holidays here.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Would that be the "City Council Should Have to Vote on Their Pay Raises So That It's on the Record, Rather Than Just Giving Themselves Raises" issue?

No, it's the "Let's Totally Eliminate the Property Tax" issue (my company publishes tax-code and other government-program books, so state and federal tax issues are big interest around here).
