Swouncing

Nowadays, you have to get the kid an SSN if you want to claim him/her as a dependent on the tax returns.

But there's still a chance that a child may 'fall between the chairs' (Hebrew expression, meaning 'not here and not there') and not have any sort of 'official' recording?

I wonder if it's possible here, in whatever sort of way. Maybe if a child is born at home, with no medical attention, it can be pretty easy to not register him/her. Hmm.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Thanks, ita. I needed that.

The part where you wear horrible eye make-up and sleep with very young men named Mark.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'm doing ok. Definitely into the Cleopatra part of grieving.

Wait, doesn't that mean you let yourself get bitten by a poisonous snake?

In all seriousness, glad you are back and coping (at least it seems you are).

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

But there's still a chance that a child may 'fall between the chairs' (Hebrew expression, meaning 'not here and not there')

I think the equivalent English expression is 'fall between the cracks.'

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

question: those of you watching this season of The Amazing Race: family Edition, are you liking it?

I'm way less invested than in any prior season. There's only one family that I religiously fastforward through, but after last week, there's no one I much care about either. Okay, I'm kind of rooting for the Widow and Kids family, if only because everyone else hates them so much. Plus, I'm kind of familiar with the way something can crash down out of the blue and throw your whole life out of whack, and how crazy some of the coping mechanisms can look to outsiders. I wouldn't go so far as to say I like them, though.

Thanks, I am. My innapropriate sense of humor is keeping me somewhat sane.

Always Anti-fascist!

I think she means De Nile, but the other answers sound like more fun.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I don't see why it shouldn't. Cyn says the quarter and Uptown are looking pretty decent.

That's good to hear. Now I'm wondering if I can arrange to be in the area around the same time they are in dock.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The part where you wear horrible eye make-up and sleep with very young men named Mark.

Might I recommend some Dacascos? A little Valley (well, there is only little, with Valley)? And never forget the classics.
