When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Matt, Toothy Tile is suspected to be Jake Gyllenhaal.

Burrell, I hope she can be cheered some. That's got to be miserable.

Kate, they'll be fine. A bit stale, but that actually works for chocolate.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Oh cool! So much better for the team than who I feared. (I actually remember thinking it was him the first time I heard the pseudonym, but people convinced me otherwise..)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Who did you fear?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Spending a quiet Friday night at home. Just me, G and the cat.(Wasn't that a song in the '70s?)

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Is the cat named "Blue"?

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

I wanted to share one of my homework questions:

Descartes goes into a restaurant. The waiter asks him, "Would you like tonight's special?" He replies, "I think not," and disappears. Comment on the logical validity of this joke.

No shit, that's question 24 in chapter 10.

Good thing you already have your teaching license.

That's right! And I got it in the mail today! God, it's an ugly piece of paper. It looks like they haven't gotten a new printer since 1987, and my car registration was better formatted. Still, metaphorically shiny new license!

I'm not even sure what "comment on the logical validity" means. It's a pune, or a play on words, made to be the ha-ha by the convention of eliding the active verb in response to a question and instead negating the helping verb. Very droll.

Well, wouldn't "I think, therefore I am" imply that, say, the table he was sitting at am not. But obviously it am, despite not being able to think, so I think (and therefore am) that no matter what M. Descartes says, he's unlikely to disappear. Or something.
