Rough night last night after such a good day. Guess there's no room for a perfect day in my life.
Yeah, it usually works out that way, which is No Fun. I could say something about the inverse being that there can be no wholly crappy days, but that's a little more sunshine and puppies than I generally go for. Hopefully today will be better than last night.
DebetEsse, that's disappointing. I'm sorry!
Thanks. It's one of those things that I don't feel like I get to be upset about (or, at least, complain to them about), but I am, because it sucks.
Who knows a good fairly left-wing (for them) Orthodox Rabbi in NYC I could get in touch with, y'know?
Rabbi Schoolman at the Center for Religious Inquiry could probably suggest a direction to head in [link]
but I am, because it sucks.
And you have every right to complain.
Hopefully today will be better than last night.
That's what I'm hoping. Just had a really bad asthma attack that led to much pukage. Guess it could have been worse.
I'm offended! As it so happens, my Conservative rabbi is a Reconstructionist!
Poor Reconstructionism...so ignored in the nicknaming of sects!
DebetEsse, that sucks MIGHTILY.
Any chance you could usurp Christmas Eve and make THAT your "boxing day"? Watch LotR, eat pizza... or will it be too hard to force chillage?
It requires the entire day (12 hours of movie), and it's unlikely that it will be possible to occupy the upstairs, with Mom in Christmas mode. The people I would invite are also unlikely to be free, and it's not as much fun with just my brother and me.
Too bad Polter can't use that Veronica Mars screenshot as a citation of an article he's written.
I believe I have mentioned the construction going on next to my office. Here is a relatively recent pic of the action.
To give you an idea, my office is the building on the right, the white column thing just to the left of center is a staionary crane that is taller than my 10 floor building. The right half of the site is going to be a huge glass cathedral and the left half will be a parking lot with the church offices and community hall on top.
The site used to be a surface parking lot that was level with the street - they have hauled out SO much dirt...
Wow, MG! That's something!
