Now we're saving a vampire from vampires. I got two words for that -- Nuh and uh.

Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

BTW Cindy, whereas I am generally in favor of thread titles being from Buffy or Angel, if we were going to use a non-buffyverse quote, your VM quote is the one I'd want. It's brilliant.

I have news.

I am having a good day.

First class: I was late. Ok. Whatever. It's a crazy day. I got my paper back, though, that I turned in on Monday. It had AMAZING comments, and was an A. Go me! (and Deena and Dad!)

Next thing: Tutoring. Student didn't need me, because she's an idiot and already turned in her paper. Whatever. Not my problem anymore.

Second class: Depressing Biology. Only, wait! The class average on the exam was a 70%! So, my 64%? A C!!!!!!!!!!!! Me = thrilled!

Next thing: Tutoring again. Student didn't finish paper. Asked me a few questions then let me go so she could finish. Once again, not my problem.

Next thing: lunch/hang out with Buffistas/finish final paper for Computers and Humans.

Oh, and I e-mailed my professor's comments to my therapist, because I'd read her the piece in therapy yesterday (it's about Radical Acceptance). She e-mailed me back the nicest e-mail.

I am having a good day. Go figure.

Art Crawl!!!

Woo hoo for vw's good day.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Wow, and with a biology sandwiched in the middle. Go vw!

Cindy, that is a good quote. I don't know why I'm such a traditionalist about this thread, but if it's not a Spike quote I get.. okay, I act like a baby, even if it's where you all can't see me.

What is even happening?

If it helps, it was said to * Willow and Cordelia (in that order), only they're pretending to be someone else...s *.

That said, I totally get the BtVS quote desire, Deena.

Your tag here.

::Whew:: for the C in biology, vw. At the risk of starting an educator kerfuffle, I have to comment that

The class average on the exam was a 70%!

would be considered pretty poor performance for the instructor if that instructor were outside of an educational institution. It just seems to me that an educator's effectiveness should be measured by how well they educate and there should be some accountability.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Or could it be that the prof just gives very hard tests?

This is it. And, it's a HUGE class, with a wide range of abilities. And, this is the lowest average all semester. I think he was really quite surprised with it.

Also, he's a good professor whose research is in how to best teach college-level biology, rather than biology itself. He'll take this information and use it to teach it better next year. I'm sure of it.

Librarian Warlord

I know that I feel I have to write questions with hard parts (that only students who can take it to the next level will "get"). My department dictates the curve I must use, so x number of my students will get a C. I'd rather base it on what they really seem to know than on nit-picky things (which is what I'd have to use if they could all answer all the questions).
