Yeah, I was going to say, resumes paper clipped , not stapled. Also make sure each resume has name and contact info on each page, and all pages except first should be numbered.
Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Also, since you are trying for writing positions, would not hurt of have some writing samples with you. Maybe on CD rather than paper to save printing costs.

That's what I meant by clips. Clippings. Copies of things you've written. Paper is probably best, since interviewers tend to scan them, if only to give them something to talk to you about.
Hard to have a cover letter if there's no actual job you're applying for--I'd say this is the one instance where one of those blurbs at the top of a resume would actually be useful and pointful. Normally I'm very anti those blurbs, they annoy me.
I'm finally home, but not especially wanting to go to work tomorrow. Besides all the "OK, now I'm back let me catch up on email" and work caused by teh travel, my semi-boss told me one of my other coworkers has been pulled onto a different project and so they may need me to do her travel too, in January. I was looking forward to teh crazy travel only being December, and then getting a break. ARGH. OTOH, sounds like some of her travel at least is Orlando...
t waves to everyone
I've been absento-girl lately. How goes stuff and things, Bitches?
Yay for you working soon. Hey, you like licorice, right?
I do! I do!
PC, I've got nothing but cheerleading for you, so good luck and knock 'em dead!
I do! I do!
Yay.
I'm awake and it's 3:25am. I'm up because the entire family went to bed at 8pm because Joe is jumping (out of an airplane) this morning and has to be there at 4am. I'm not really worried for him, but I am just a little bit worried. Of course, the jump isn't until 8, so I've got a while before I know he's fine.
He'll be fine, Stephanie. Jumping out of an airplane is a lot easier than jumping off the tower.
Which reminds me that I need to order coffee from you guys!
Mal and I are going to explore the new mall here, but first I had to stop by and say that he just said "Ole!" He's got a maraca rattle that says Ole and Bravo and plays the hat dance and La Cucaracha, and he was shaking it and said "Ole!"
And I also had to post this: [link]
Can I just say how awesome it is to come in here and spend the morning playing catch up reading about binary, and math geekery, and creation v naturalism as it applies to mathiness?
Interesting trivia: I recall hearing about three years back that of the sciences, physics academics had just recently overtaken biology academics as the ones most likely to be atheists; and mathematics academics were the ones least likely to be.
P-C, dress nicely, though a suit would be overkill, I think. Take resumes in a folder. A cover letter would be a good. Be ready to do your 30 second self-pimp. View it as a pre-interview, IMO.
Self-pimping deserves a pimpin' outfit. IJS.
Oh! I had my annual performance appraisal today. I don't like these things. I never feel that good about them, I tend to be easily distracted by shiny things like the internets. Though I don't check out the Phoenix board (for the most part) at work since I got back to Australia. Like I was saying to Bec the other day, I just don't feel that professional. But apparently this is a minority position, and the higher-ups think I rock in rocking ways. It's rather neat, actually, they see mee taking on the role of the Australian expert in capital markets, assumptions, modelling, that sort of thing; which is more or less the direction I was hoping to move in. I'll still be primarily involved in client work, but I like the trajectory. Oh, and I may find myself going to more conferences and things, which is nice.
ION, TM!Girl is not interested. Apparently there's someone else she's sort of interested in right now, so she just wants to be friends. Ah well.
