[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Ah-ha Nicole, that explains the text I got from her.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The Saga of Holiday Canning continues!

I discovered this weekend that I left my giant stockpot behind when me moved last year. This makes sense, as a 16-quart stockpot is not of much use to 2 people. But, alas! I'd forgotten that I use the thing once a year for canning, and am now thinking I should replace it.

My question is, would the basket that comes in this water-bath canner hold half-pint jars, or would they fall through the bottom? I don't want to bother getting a canner as opposed to a cheap pot if I can't use the basket (especially since I already have a jar lifter, so I don't really need a basket at all), and the picture's not very helpful.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

We actually looked once. Never did it again - because the surpise was so much of the fun. Which is what makes it easy to keep a secret now...

Yeah, the year we actually found stuff was a real bummer.

Dye question:

Will poly-cotton jersey take a dye? Or does it have to be cotton? I want to make something black.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Trudy-

Black is hard to get with RIT dye. If you can possibily boil it with salt it might come out darker, but honestly, the darkest I have ever gotten was dark grey. I don't know about other kinds of dye (I am sure there is some made for poly, but I am not familiar with it)

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Just looking at the photo, Jessica, I'm thinking the half pints might fall through. Their customer service number was busy when I tried to call to ask. Thbbpt.
