[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

I don't know what the weather is doing right now, but y'all'd probably laugh...it's kind of cold for us, though. It's warm here, but not quite shorts-all-year-tropical...cold stuff comes down from the mountains sometimes.Hec, I just remembered: Tony Kushner likes The Wire enough that he gave The Truth Be Told, the Wire companion, a blurb. When HBO-verses collide...

Oh. Dear.

I just got an e-mail from one of the students I'm tutoring. Her big final paper is due on Monday. She's only read 1.5 of the four articles she needs to talk about in her paper...and actually, she only has three articles. She hasn't found the fourth yet.

She better not think I'm writing this paper for her!!! She e-mailed me yesterday asking if I'd found the articles and read them yet. I was going to do that in preparation to help her, but now I'm not so sure I'm going to take the time. She needs to do this. And I know I need to help her, but...there is a limit.

Also, she asked me to call her on her cell phone to set up a meeting time, because she doesn't have "enternet."

Dear god, please help me.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Dear god, please help me.

You misspelled "her".

Art Crawl!!!

Oh dear.

Guess there's a reason that one needs a tutor. (Although she appears to not fully understand the tutor-tutee relationship.)

We didn't get as much snow as they did in town - or even in the 'burbs. But it is plenty cold here this morning. (6 degrees)

A friend of mine who lives and works in the western 'burbs (of Chicago) usually has a 25 minute commute. Last night it took her an hour and a half to get home - 18 minutes of which was trying to get out of her company's lot. 88 was at a standstill and the local roads were all jammed.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, my coworker's wife (hee, so funny to call her that, they just got married) kept calling in with updates and her trip must have taken at least two hours in total. I left before she got anywhere near, more than an hour later than usual.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

No snow here.

Last night our new Safeway opened up for a 4 hour "preview", of course we went. They had tastings and 10% discounts. The place is HUGE....aircraft hanger bay HUGE. It officially opens at 8am this morning.

I drove by it on my way to work, around 6am. There were people LINED UP. Lots of people. With blankets, chairs, and coffee. WTF?!?!? Who lines up 2 HOURS before a new grocery store opens?

Well, that too.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Once again, I am glad I don't have to drive. And every train and but I've taken has been non-crowded and arrived at the stop just after I did. But on the down side, I schlepped my ass to Evanston Hospital, but they had no record of the blood tests I'm supposed to have done.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Oh, tommy, that sucks. What a waste of time and energy.

I'm supposed to go get new tires for the car today. It's developed a suspicious shimmy, most likely due to patching one when it went bad a month or so ago. I don't even want to go out. The wind is ugly and the ice in our badly plowed parking lot is pretty thick. Am ruminating.

Well, because of efficient public transportation, I only wasted about 45 minutes.
