[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I'm off to shower, finally. Since we've already had enough snow to cause major traffic back-ups from accidents, I figured it was time to put new tires on the car so I didn't become part of the problem. I've got a 3 o'clock appointment and I figure I can do a little more Christmas shopping while they work on the car. It's gonna be crowded, which sucks, but if I can finish off the major gifts today, I'll be happy.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

If I cry and scream and yell in therapy, will you buy me a gelato?

Hell, I'll take you to Italy.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Ha!

Mine is a quadraplegic who insists on entering marathons.

Hi, all. How's tricks? Damn, it's cold today. And grey. Ick. I am still in my warm albeit ugly nightie, with a cat on my lap. I have to buy lingerie, ER mascara and work and then go to a bachelorette party after the theatre.

You know, I never thought I'd say this, but b-ette parties are starting to get BOR-ing. This is my fourth b-ette party this year, and on 12/30, my last wedding. Of 4.

STOP GETTING MARRIED! People, please. Hold off for another year, ok?

Only if I get some too.

with Ben that a lot of times, when I get to the root of his stress, part of it comes from what he thinks Scott and I are going to think. Usually, we're much more mellow than his imaginary version of us.

Heh. I never ever knew when my parents would be just as I expected and freak out, and when they'd randomly be completely mellow. Usually, they were very stress-making, but sometimes (like when I wanted to dye my hair at 13, or when I put a dent in teh car the very first time I took it out) they were totally laid back. Other times (like when I accidentally smashed the down-spout on teh house by running into it with the car...) they were wayyyyyyy uncool.

ER mascara, Erin? Is that like, a brand, or an emergency?

Also, I made sure (now that I don't have cable, sniff) to set the antenna to get UPN most clearly, before I left for my trip, so I could get VM and ANTM. And it still came in all fuzzy. BOO.

Emergency. I left my new purse at work, with my mascara in it.

So I need a cheap tube to get me through the weekend. I have tom work tonight and tomorrow, and I can't POSSIBLY work and go out without mascara.

No, really. I look like a startled Child of the Damned.

Good to know. My regular is a new tube of Lancome, which I haven't been able to afford in a while, so I'm kind of cosmetically irked.

love's a dream you enter though I shake and shake and shake you

I'm glad the subject of mascara has come up. I've never been able to find a mascara I liked; I've got reasonably long but very sparse eyelashes, so I need something more with the thickening and not so much with the lengthening. Mascara is my OTCosmetic, so I'm willing to shell out the dough if necessary. Something not tested on animals is pretty much my only non-negotiable point.

What all have you tried, to narrow things down? Sadly, the Tony & Tina stuff I adored went away when the brand did. Vincent Longo The Curl is pretty good, but I haven't checked its cruelty status, because I suck.
