Exactly. I've been watching a lot of Alias reruns and it doesn't look all that hard. Though I don't really like wearing that much make-up. But I would for a kick-ass kitchen and heated bathroom floor.

I am up too early. Although, I can nap later today so I don't mind. Joe is up and he woke me up so here I am.
We went to our Holiday Ball last night. It was relatively fun. I enjoyed getting dressed up and there were a few people there that I knew. The one woman I talked to most has an 8 month old baby so guess what we talked about. Still, it was fun to meet so many of the people Joe spent the last year with. They all said such nice things - asking about Ellie, which made me happy because it tells me Joe has been talking lots about her and telling me how much they loved Joe and his coffee.
We left before dinner time because Ellie was crying at home. Of course, by the time we got here, she was sound asleep. I hate that she was crying, but now that she's not, I can recognize that it's not the end of the world.
I am jealous of those with snow. I miss having a real winter.

Hey, Bitches, are any of you (except for Cashmere, who I'll be working on) not watching Veronica Mars?
If not, did you try it and not like it, or never get around to it? I didn't start watching it last year, because the name and concept just didn't appeal to me. I'll admit to being intrigued, because enough of my online friends seemed to be getting very into it. People kept telling me to watch. I kept saying, "Yeah, yeah, yeah." I did tune in once or twice, and while I didn't think it was bad at all, it didn't grab me enough to make me remember to watch.
When Joan of Arcadia (*sniff*) didn't get picked up last Spring, I started thinking about giving it a serious go, because really, all that was going to be on my TV slate was 24, and that doesn't start 'til January. By the end of last TV season or maybe even during the summer, my friends who watched it really turned up the pimping heat. I started TiVoing reruns, but didn't watch any of them, because Scott and I were doing our big Buffy full series rewatch, and it was so nice to have my girl back.
tiggy sent me the DVDs for VM season 1. We were still watching Buffy though, and were catching up on Lost. We got into Lost enough, that I had strong doubts as to whether or not I would bother with VM season 2. I wasn't going to be Mistress Ingratitude to tiggy though, because she was so sweet to send me the episodes. Similarly, Debet had sent me 2.01 which had been accidentally deleted from my TiVo (because I didn't bother to change it to "keep until I delete"), so I knew I'd at least watch that far.
One night, Scott caught a VM rerun, and finally showed some interest in watching. He hadn't cared about giving it a go before--another factor which contributed to my apathy toward VM. He got interested right when were were in about the middle of BtVS s7, and that season does tend to drag a person down. We needed distraction, so one night, we decided to start VM, right from episode 1.01.
I am so sorry I didn't watch this show from the get-go. I liked the pilot and early episodes enough that it was no hardship to continue, but it was just a TV show. Then, somewhere around the middle of season 1, it just grabbed me and Scott. Hard.
It's so smart. The episodes are so dense. I can't believe how much happens in every episode. I was trying to write up some stuff about last week's episode, and couldn't fit it all (and you all know I have no problem making long posts). Now I just want to grab every person I encounter and say, "Are you watching? Well, you just must. That's it. Go home and watch." And I figured if I am going to be grabbing people, I ought to start with my Bitches.
I never got around to watching VM when it first came on, and then things got to a point where I felt like I'd be too far behind to get caught up. So, I never watched.
I think I may have to remedy that situation.
The more I talk to the friend we are meeting in Germany, the more worried I get. He's bringing skiing stuff, and got a card so he can go to the military commissary in Garmisch. I see no time in the schedule for skiing or driving to Garmisch, and since he's going to the US for 3 weeks after Germany, I don't know what he'd buy at the comm. anyway.
We ended up renting a car after all - even with the insane-o German rates, it was much cheaper than the train + taxi combo. I've informed him that I will be the driver. For one thing, we're getting a VW Passat (go figure) and I know from 3 years with my Passat that other people stall them out. I've also informed the friend that he gets 20% of the trunk space, so he might want to reconsider the ski gear.
Wish me coping!
And when I get back, I expect everyone to be recovered from colds, flus, other, and happy and cozy. That's an order!

That's how I felt. If I had a DVD drive on this PC, I'd burn you all a copy of season 1. You don't have to have seen season 1 to watch season 2 (but you should totally watch season 1 for the character development, because I think Veronica's more appealing this season if you know about her past, and see the change in her (well supported by canon) between last season and this).
I think I may have to remedy that situation.If you can rent the first season from NetFlix or Blockbuster, you really should. But, I think it's like BtVS or A:ts, in that you could come in a season other than season 1, and catch up later. It's just that watching from the beginning is going to give you the fullest experience.
ION, I am evil. I'm about to double-space an assignment that I'm not sure whether or not it's to be double-spaced. But, it's supposd to be 6-8 pages, and I'm on page three and can't think of another thing to add. So, it's getting double-spaced, and there you have it.
