Where in Northern Michigan?
Alpena. Which isn't northern compared to, say, Marquette, MI, I guess. But for the lower penninsula it's kinda northern.
And in totally other news, I found out just before leaving work today that we'll probably see layoffs in the next week or so. No idea if I'll be one of them or not. I have 70+ applications out and not one interview, so any secure employment~ma hanging about would be appreciated, please.
Alpena.
Hee. My great-grnadmother lives in Tawas. I have been to Alpena lots!
Oh, yeah. We used to go through Tawas all the time on the way to visit my maternal grandfolks in Saganaw.
You're damn right that's not Northern, Missy.
Sincerely,
Mom Grew Up in Escanaba and Every Family Reunion is There
I know, I know. My Dad's from Carlshend (20 minutes east of Marquette).
I haven't been up there in ages. Pity--it's lovely. But after Grandpa died there wasn't as compelling a reason to go as there had been.
Also, it takes 12 million hours to drive up there. At least.
And there's only so many pasties you can buy.
And there's only so many pasties you can buy.
And for those you really only need to cross the bridge to St. Ignace.
Mmmmm. Now I'm hungry for Mackinaw fudge. I'd better go get dinner before I order from Marshall's web site. [link]
Decent skiing, though. For the Midwest, anyway.
Employment~ma, Calli.
Turned out I was still in the system from 7 years ago, so they just needed my LA DL. I had my birth certificate just in case, though. It's nice that I get to keep my ol DL#, though, because for some odd reason I still remember it.
I've never lived anywhere where snow stayed on the ground. It's as mysterious to me as living in a dome on Mars.
I don't wanna do school work.

Actually, we should probably leave that tag open for a few more weeks. Or maybe forever.
