[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You mean, with the unit fraction thing? Cause boy, that's hard to do. Like, when you're adding 1/4 and 1/13, you have to find the right combination of (1/x)s. Quite taxing.
Exactly that. It's just ... I don't get it. I don't understand the why and the how is pretty strange too.

Taking 3/8 and making them all 1/something + 1/something +1/somethings. I need to watch again.

Yeah, I'm afraid I don't get the why either, and the how for me was pretty much trial and error. They must have had a lot of lookup tables. (Though so long as you've got an even number in the denominator, you're in pretty good shape, at least for a little while.)

Bummer. I was hoping that there was some really interesting reason *why* and once I heard it, I would understand why they were taking things down to 1/something when it seems more complicated.

Except when they talked about having 5 loaves of bread for 8 people. That one (give each person a half and then divide up the remaining loaf eight ways) made sense and was mathtastic.

OK, hivemind. Where can one get white-tie or black-tie tuxedos? Brooks Brothers was the only place I could think of, and the only jacket they offer has one button and notched lapels, both no-nos.

I would think Nordstrom's as a good but expensive option.

Are you looking for internetability for the purchase, local or stateside?

Dread Pirate Snot Monster is harshing my sleepy, man. I suspect I am going to be sleeping sitting up-ish.

Thanks guys! I hadn't even thought to check the department stores. And thanks for the shipment offers...I think the hard part will be finding a tux that meets the requirements.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

La la la - I think I am up so early that my brain doesn't know what the hell is going on, so it's not telling me I'm tired....

Raq, what are the requirements (again?) for the tux?

Am awake and have stuffed zinc up my nose. Which is surely the mark of feeling oogy because don't like things up my nose. Am going back to sleep after the zinc thing and some Alka Seltzer Cold. When come back, try personal pronouns.
