I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I am making giblet gravy right now AIFG. It's a bit time consuming, though. I'm glad we thought to do as much of this stuff as possible today. The giblet gravy is brown.

There are no drippings in the gravy, because they will all be in the stuffing OMG YUM, we're butterflying the turkey over a pan of cornbread stuffing. I got this idea weeks ago from Jessica, and then found it in the OTC (One True Cookbook) as a high roast crisp skin butterfly badass bird. Thing.

I would have loved to cook a bunch more stuff but there will only be 4 of us at dinner and so I had to forcibly restrain myself. But even with 4 people, there are still two kinds of cranberry sauce. crazy cranberry haters! and the same to gravy haters! Next thing you'll tell me is that you hate beer and then I will cry before realzing that it just means more beer, gravy, and cranberrys for ME!

Now tagless for your comfort.

In spite of my wishy washiness about cranberries, I'll stand firm on the subject of gravy. I love it! It's good--no matter what the color or base.

Has Deena checked in? They're supposed to be getting A LOT of snow tonight and tomorrow. I hope everyone is snug up there.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Tomorrow morning (okay, 'morning' being around 10:30-11:00 in our house) I will get up and start preparing the turkey. By about 1:30-2PM, my parents will turn up, and my mom will (1) bring an entire box of kitchen utensils she suspects I don't have, and (2) shoo me away from the stove. That we've been hosting some sort of huge Thanksgiving potluck meal for the past 10 years has made no impact on my mother's strongly-held belief that I should not be trusted with a stove or knives.

I don't mind anymore. I'll just smile, move to another counter in the kitchen, and start mixing chocolate martinis for people.

The snow bands are usually heaviest closest to the lake and to the East of town. But they're calling for anywhere from a foot to two feet of snow, which is a lot in my book.

I am currently making beans for The Tortillas and Beans Dinner so that tired and cranky vw has something to eat once she gets home, because every once in a fifth blue moon or a month of Sundays, whichever comes first, I am capable of being the nice roomie.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Can someone find me some motivation? I had it a while ago when I picked up and vacuumed the living room, but it done run away somewhere and I still have stuff to do. Fortunately, not a lot as I decided to destress myself for T-day by buying a lot of premade items for tomorrow--pie and fancy veggies from the Whole Paycheck. All I have to make is the cranberry sauce tonight. Tomorrow will be the turkey and dressing, mashed taties, candied yams and gravy. I may go to the store tonight and buy a gravy mix, as I seem to have terrible luck getting enough drippings to make a decent one most years. I don't think I'm up to giblet gravy this year. I just don't seem to have any energy and I'm starting to cough. I think I caught my daughter's cold, darn it. Rotten timing, but not, because it's a 4 day weekend and, hopefully, I can sleep it away after tomorrow.
