'Out Of Gas'

Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

brillig

Just talked to Hubby's surgeon. The problem wasn't nearly as bad as they thought it was going to be. We thought he was going to have to have a full-scale reconstruction, but what was going on was a tear in the librum (the gasket around the ball of the shoulder joint). Plus there was a big calcium deposit that the surgeon took out.

IE, "next to no recovery, make sure he gets that arm moving as much as he can."

I will not cry in the waiting room, I will not cry in the waiting room.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh yay, that's good news. Recovery-ma anyway!

Librarian Warlord

That is wonderful news, connie! You may flood the waiting room with tears of good news, IMHO.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Amych has a good point. Sorry the guy is being such a wanker, Sparky.

I woke up at 9:18 this morning (work starts at 10:00 and is about 30 minutes away), and it's raining here. Can I have a do over?

eta: Yay Connie.

Mostly lurking...

Sparky, that's terrible. Fucko is right.

Yay, Connie!

Ok...some people should not be allowed near a computer. They are dangerous. Just 'cause you have a PhD does not mean you can create a table or a document in general.

And how long do I have to fix it, print it, tape it, and staple it? Exactly 30 minutes. And I thought it was going to be a rush project!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That's terrific, Connie!

Sparky, that principal is an idiot, and shouldn't be in charge of a cage of weasles, much less a building full of children.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

That's great news, Connie.

I hate the "boys will be boys" rationale. It's fuzzy-minded liberal thinking like that that gets you eaten.

vw, the last company I worked for was full of very bright engineers, and when I got copy from them electronically I discovered that more than one of them was putting hard returns at the end of every line.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Sparky, your sister has already spoken to the police and a lawyer, right?

I don't think I'd talk to anyone else at all. Also, Dear Abby says not to talk to the family of the people you've wronged because they'll just hate you more and you won't help yourself, so maybe the family has been reading Dear Abby.

he's doing it on the defensive, so he may come back tougher.

I'm going to swim against the tide with this one and say he's being honest, and though it sucks to hear, it's human nature and he was being upfront about it. I'm sure there are people who wouldn't be defensive in such a situation, but I don't think that's the norm.
