Snot monster got an invite from either allergies or a cold and it's dulled my brain and convinced it that a sinus headache would be nifty. So I could be wrong

Anya ,'Potential'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You had to take FIVE semesters of physics, and only TWO chem? I'm offended, on behalf of my chem major. Even if I did hate it.
Three if you count the lab. But, basically, yeah. Mostly because they want to get everybody into quantum. Also, the next step after our core chem curriculum is the full-year organic class, which would be evil to require of all of us (the review of it we get in core was more than enough to make me never want to see a carbon again).
Bio is even more shafted, and that's with our President being a Nobel prize-winning biologist. So don't feel too offended.
"Oh, honey. Don't apologize. We see butt all day long."
May I tag, Steph?

Absolutely! You may want to attribute it to my nurse rather than to me, though.
Actually, I think I'll leave it unattributt-ed. Then, people will wonder just who it is that sees butt all day long. It could be....teachers!

Heh. Well, I managed (even as a chem major!) to not take ANY bio in college--I took the AP/IB class in high school, and weaseled out of biochem by taking Xray crystallography...
I was one of those good/very good sudents - that never said anything or caused trouble. I could have used a push - because I was lazy. But in classrooms that had 30+ students - no one was gonna see me. I did have teachers that did see me. but in classrooms where I had confidence. Someday I really want to put together a scholarship for kids that " don't work up to thier potential" - to do something a little more advetureous ( academically) then might be suggested by their grades.
On the way home I had to run to the drugstore, so I ended up at the U District Walgreens. (I intended to go to Bartells but the U Bookstore 20% off for faculty/staff/students sale was well underway, but moving on.)
And there, I saw the Alternative Reality Family Zmayhem.
I mean, it was scary. They were in their late-20s and had a 6yo boy, only a brunette. He wasn't quite a dead ringer for Emmett, but man the David and JZ doppelgangers were very doppel.

Didn't David Letterman give a scholarship for a "C" student at his alma mater? (Ball State, I think?)
Whoa. I have to admit, some of the public school teacher bashing I'm seeing in here is really upsetting. As a public school teacher who is sitting in a desk at her school at 8:00 PM, waiting for parent conferences to end, after I've been at school since 6:30 PM to see a lumping of PS teachers as incompetent or not giving a rat's ass about students is maddening.
As far as pushing and prodding go, I'm sure Annabel will be pushed just fine even if she has teachers who aren't exactly what you intended.
I have 150 students, 110 of whom turned in papers that I spent over 10 hours last weekend grading. It's insulting to me and my profession to imply we're a bunch of people just waiting until retirement or for vacation.
