What beth said, Aims. Also, it's handy for the kind of "I'm qualified even though I'm not coming from the same career path as the rest of the applicants" shifts -- so,
"I've had a successful career as a cartoon supervillain, but the chance to put the same skills to work as a FOX executive is a long-time dream of mine".
But unless it adds something, all they really need to know at the cover letter stage is that you're hot for their job.
now I feel like I have done something useful
before helping Aimee with her letter I had pet the cat, fed the cat , fed the beth , turned the dishwasher on. I am also watching stuff on TIVO because it is getting too full

Those who have seen me lately, can I pull this off?
I haven't seen you lately, but it's a great dress, and I think you should give it a shot.
wow, that's freeeeeaking gorgeous!
But as I have not seen you lately I cannot answer your question. Though gorgeous Aimee + gorgeous dress = something awesome.
Oooh, Aimée, that's lovely! I haven't seen you recently (or at all, outside of pictures), but I think that dress would look good on many figure types. If I thought I'd be doing anything fancy for New Years I'd get it myself.
Something along the lines of , "For the past six years, I have used my accounting skills in the property management industry. However, I am to put them to even better use in a creative environment."?
Oh, Aimee, that is lovely. I certainly think you could pull it off!
I was just very rude to a telemarketer calling for Emily. They have called at least three times a day for the last several weeks. Emily has told them that she is not interested, and they just don't listen. So, I kind of just told them off. Told them if they didn't take her name off the list, I'd be reporting them to the BBB. Take that, telemarketer!
t high fives vw, telemarketer slayer.
Re: the dress, I'm afraid I'm Too Short and Too Buxom (ok, now I want to Pooh Case EVERYTHING).
I'll get it.
