Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Deena! I had a dream that I was trying to call to talk to Aidan and Kara, and I realized I was calling from a hotel room phone and wanted to call from another phone. Needless to say, Kara was NOT impressed with my mad dream phone skillz.
job ~ma to the MG DH.
Thanks for the ~ma, everyone. She sure needs it.
Fay, other people have given you fantastic advice already, so let me just add by way of cheerleading that when you find a program that works for you, you're going to find that you're not exercising in order to get to some mythical outward state where you're gorgeous and self-confident -- rather, the very fact that you're doing it gives you that confidence (and helps you to grok that you are the fantabulous creature that we already know you to be).
This isn't a matter of how much weight you lose or even how far you can go, but of realizing that you can do something -- and it's not something easy -- that you couldn't do before, under your own power and by your own will, and you (okay, sometimes not until after the fact) feel better than you did before.
I think a lot of us here were the last ones chosen for the team; now's your chance to tell the old school bullies to EAT IT.
Nora! My dream last night had David Bowie dressed as he was in Labyrinth, but he was a pirate. I think mine was more fun.
If'n you ever want to call and talk to Kara, you're more than welcome. Aidan is afraid of the phone. I think he thinks something will come out and eat him.

This! Exactly!!!
Interview-ma to your DH, MG. Hey, what are you doing on Saturday?
I want Deena's dream.
Hi Fay!!! You can email me any questions you like about the whole Running thing. The program you've picked is an excellent one and the one Z used to get in shape. If that doesn't work for you, runnersworld.com has a bunch of beginner's workouts for you to try, as well. I am happy to point you to anything you need. Also, home videos helped me tremendously in the beginning stages of weightlifting and yoga, when I didn't want to be around anyone else who could see me look like a fool. I can give you recs on those, too.
I'm thinking of you today, Raq. Stay safe, okay?
Cutiehead pictures of Drew and Kristin. Yay.
~ma for Grandma Mary.
Job~ma for MG's DH.
Vibes, please, for me. I got a call to set up a meeting with a few people from a WF-in-SF job I think I'd really like, so please let some of them be in the office on this 25th.
Yeah, it's a headache. I never used to be woken up by these.
I'm from a mega-athletic family, and was pushed into sports at a young age, but I sucked. I was major klutz and plain not interested in any of it until the martial arts came along.
I
cannot
exercise for exercise's sake, and I respect those who can. I exercise because it's
in
the martial arts, or I exercise to support them directly. Adrenaline and endorphins are fun, but I'm still picky.
That having been said, if running makes you feel better, do it! But don't be turned off exercise as a whole (and martial arts in specific) if it doesn't. For the life of me I can't convince Kat to try krav. Oh, she'll exercise, but krav's not her thing. Me, the only reason I went near running was to be more fit for a krav test. She loves it for some reason I can't understand. It's that individual.
Oh, and a hearty third on the yoga. Get some ashtanga stuff, and it's great for strength and fitness. Okay, all of it's pretty good, but I think ashtanga will feel more like you're working out, yet still slowly, and by yourself.
Positive vibes to all who need them.
My dream last night had David Bowie dressed as he was in Labyrinth, but he was a pirate.
Best. Dream. Ever!
I have a ton of schoolwork to do today and I just don't wanna. Can someone email me some motivation, please?
Job-vibing for juliana and for MG's DH.
-ma and prayers both to Grandma Mary, and some -ma for Nora as well.
And, damn, those pictures! Lovely statue, extremely lovely professional recognition of your hard work and incredible giftedness, very lovely couple (which is, um, kind of surprising but not, and belated congratulations, though phoo on you for saving all the big announcements and schmoop for LJ-land and not here), and sensational splendid red hair!
Off now to shower and ferry Emmett across the Bay.
