Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I had a fight with my favorite co-worker and am feeling down about it even though it's over and it all seems okay now. Stupid work.

Mostly lurking...

Thanks for the earworm!

So, I need to write an e-mail to the prof who caused me so much stress yesterday. I'm thinking of something along the lines of:

Do you have time to meet tomorrow, either the hour before or the hour after class? I have some concerns about a few of the comments on my last assignment and would like to clarify with you before I start my revisions.

Thoughts?

Of course, what I really want to say is:

Professor Dumbo,

DID YOU EVEN READ MY FUCKING PAPER?

but, I will restrain.

I loves my co-worker but sometimes his communication style is difficult. Alas, he doesn't seem to see that. He did have reason to be mad at me but it came out of my frustration with his communication style. Anyway, it's over now and he says he's not mad anymore. Still feeling thwumpy about it, though.

Plus GF wanted to go to Disneyland on Friday and I can't because I have too much crap to do this week. Can it please be Nov. 11 now? I want the GRE off my plate, damn it.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Apparently at the phone center where I work, we are not allowed to dress up for Halloween.

Daniel, try showing your employer a book called Fish! Tales by Lundin, Christensen, Paul & Strand. One of their most prominent examples is a Sprint call center. They show how, by loosening up, bringing play into the workplace, and treating their workers like adults, they increased productivity and effectiveness and, I believe, reduced costs.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

See, if they try and bring more play into my workplace, they may also bring aneurysm into my brain. I'm so grateful the people who were pushy about decorating and costumes last year are overworked and bitter this year (what took them so long?). Even though we won second place (which reminds me -- I have no idea what happened to that gift cert), it SO wasn't worth it.

The play is optional. The Sprint place had a quite room where you could sit and read while waiting for calls. As opposed to the room with a disco ball.
