Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

Playing ketchup once again…

Best of luck Jilli. Yay for getting rid of cramps and pain. I’ve no doubt that The Husband of Reason will pamper you as abundantly as you deserve.

I am stunned at the poopyhead cow-orkers of Jessica. If I lived in NY I would love to bring cake and balloons and hunky strippers to treat her properly.

Good to hear a nice report from Ellie’s pediatrician.

I have no suggestions for the sleepless babies. Brendon slept very soundly. I would take him out of bed, strap him into his carseat, put him in the car, go to the train station, sit in the parking lot with train horns blowing, pick up DH, drive home, take him inside, and put him back in bed. Never woke up. Bobby on the other hand fights sleep like it was a polar bear. If he fell asleep in a car seat we would carry it inside and that is where he stayed. Mostly he slept with his ear to my heart. I got a lot more rest those days.

I'll never forget the awful nurse telling me how much he would scream when they used the saw to take it off. I was appalled and terrified, but when the doctor turned it on he was mesmerized. Absolutely silent, staring at the thing in fascination. If I hadn't been so relieved, I would have given that nurse the biggest Fuck You evah.

You would think that healthcare professionals would get that not all children are the same. If there were we could just write one book and be done with it. Each one is a unique little mystery.

WOO HOO NoiseDesign! We know you work your kilt gilded butt off on your productions. Nice to see you get a shiny reward and recognition.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Happy Birthday, sumi- hope your doctor's visit yields no unpleasant news. Many congrats to ND- it's great to see talent and SO MUCH hard work get recognized! Especially by those who wear kilts.

I think I have my conclusion hammered out and my paper written!

Our wings are not tired.

Yay for conclusions!

The sugar problem having people have so many wonderful options these days. Bobby can't have sugar and we have lots of great treats available at the grocery store for him.

We have a lot of diabetes in my family. My maternal grandparents died at the ages of 28 and 36. Both of my mother's parents had amputated legs by the time Mom was born. She was raised by her grandmother since her mother died when she was 18 months old. A 12 pound baby.

Women with diabetes always had those huge babies at that time. Yay for the researchers that have improved things so much. The reports I read convince me that by the time Bobby is grown they will have an actual cure. For now he's a good little label reader.

eta: that is of course assuming that the research inhibiting administration is tossed out soon

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Those aren't just shoes for Jilli -- those are gorgeous.

They are pretty, aren't they? I can't wear even that short heel. I wish they came completely flat. The flat ones don't look as elegant.

Happy Birthday, Sumi. Sorry about the doctor visit.

Go Nora!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Which kilt?

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

So I was so upset by the "Emily told us she'd do this a year ago, but we haven't heard from her" email that I didn't even read it very closely. Now I see that he wasn't even really saying that in response to anything -- he says, "In other news, you should talk to Emily about the currentness of the data. blah blah blah and we wonder whether these updates are as comprehensive as the automatic one would be." First of all -- in other news? Second, "we wonder"? What the hell?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Congrats, Drew!

My faucet is dripping. Don't want to call my landlord. It's a first-world complaint to be sure.

move out and draw fire

W00T! Go ND! That rocks!

Pooh Case

I'm stealing this.

Gronk, although it's 7:00 o'pm here. My first day back at work, and a 10 hour day at that. Of the good, what with the long run-up they actually had my computer account ready to go. Of the bad, I'm in database-design hell. "Well, this might be related to that, we don't really know." Of the good, Mallory had a great day with his nanny. Of the bad, once I pay the nanny and my own taxes, my take-home is $5000/year. So I can't even drive to work, because that would reduce my take-home to $2000/year after parking. Good thing I don't have to pay rent. I am in awe (again) of single mothers.
