Wow, Aimee, if he's that cool, introduce us. (Not really in a yenta way...just in whatever way. I have very few people locally to hang with.) MM could never really be stupid.
Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I am playing dress-up. Bosslady gave me two boxes full of clothes from her mother's closets - lots of warm winter stuff, including jeans in a size larger than I wear, so that I can dress in layers when the whether is really bad. Tons of pants, a set of warm winter jammies, a few sweaters, and two darling silk blouses. Woohoo!
Some of the pants and jeans don't fit, but I'ma chalk that up to the difference between Average and Petite fits.
Y'all don't have to post, I can talk alllllll by myself.
Amych: Oh, and Neil is a sabrist, not a foilist. t /sabre thwacks carrots
Is this supposed to turn into a mental Ginsu commercial?
ETA: OMFG I thought I would never get the fake tag code right! Kill me now before I try that again.
Yay for newish clothes, Andi!
I'm getting pooped out. I think I might go home soon.
Take care of you, vw!
ETA: Off to the library now. On foot! Ha! Hahahahhahaha! May also detour to the Walgreens to see if they have pure cocoa butter for the making of that which Daniel refers to as "goop".
Is this supposed to turn into a mental Ginsu commercial?
Hee! He slices! He dices! But can Neil Diamond CUT A TOMATO??!?
You get all this, and the steak knives are yours to keep absolutely free!
Nah, it's just a little twitch of mine -- people tend to talk about the three fencing weapons as if they were interchangeable (as in "not many people can weild a foil well enough..." above; most people good enough at sabre to get scholarships can't fence foil for shit, and vice versa), and the effect is a little like, hmm, calling hockey skates "figure skates", or something.
Ah, and after your edit, I see what you were asking. Yes, fencing (and sabre fencing in particular) is kind of my Bob. Thwacky thwacky thwacky.
Ah, Amych, your desire for precision is understandable. The funny thing is, I originally typed sabre, but not knowing which he used, fell back on foil, which was my brother's choice.
My boss isn't here right now, so I need to try to stick it out till he gets back. Ugh. I'm so sleepy.
I discovered there's a women's center here in town. Saturday they are having an arts and crafts sale -music festival thing, which I may go to. They also offer yoga and belly dancing classes at fairly reasonable prices.
And I've decided to make my brother a scarf for Christmas. Last year I bought Hip to Crochet and this year I've been practicing some stitches, the first pattern in the book is the scarf I'm going to try. It's a striped pattern, but instead of the four colors it calls for I'm only going to be using two colors. I found a stitch n bitch group here, I'm going to try and make a meeting. Actually there are a few women here who crochet and one is going to give me some pointers, I don't think I'm doing the stitch before the turn correctly.
Mom's also got a project to make xmas gifts and I may make one of those for someone. I'm going to try and be creative and frugal this Xmas.
