I just said that you're pretty. Even when you're covered in...engine grease, you're... No, especially, especially when you're covered in engine grease.

Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Skipped 400 posts, because playing catchup doesn't seem to work well.

Go Team Me! Last night my peeps (heh) - or at least most of the British Contingent, plus one token American - went to the Mena House to join the Indian Community Association of Egypt for their fabulous Diwali celebration. In the Ballroom. Words cannot do justice to the gold-encrusted oriental opulence of the Ballroom, and this was an occasion upon which it simply served as an appropriate backdrop to the flurry of dazzling saris and mirror-spangled scarves and candles and fairy lights. Live music from Indian pop singers. Dancing. Kids. Divine food (mostly vegetarian). Inexpensive alcohol.

AND a cute guy (whose cuteness I had earlier observed appreciatively) came over from a table opposite ours to tell me that he and his friends had been talking about me, and that I looked fabulous.

I harboured a small suspicion that they were taking the piss, but decided to go with the "yay, compliment" interpretation.

Today we're off to the second hand market near the Nile Hilton, in search of Winter clothes - for it is becoming comparatively chilly. By local standards. (I bought a duvet, and am sometimes wearing proper shoes rather than sandal-types.) Earlier today I walked to the shops, and somebody in an expensive car wolf whistled as they went past.

Am feeling fabulous. Go team me. (Appear to have lost at least 4lb this week, also.)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Oooh. That sounds amazing.

Trust my rage

Timelies! It's day 5 of the cold watch around here. Joe and I both still feel yucky. I don't think our drive to Charleston on Thursday (to pick up 1000 lbs of coffee beans) did us any favors. The house is a mess but no one around here cares.

stopping solids for a week cleared it up.

Thanks for the suggestion. Despite both nurses telling me there was no connection, this is what my mom and I were thinking. Of all of us, the Bean is handling being sick the best, but I'm holding off on ayn new solids until she feels better and this other problem clears up.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

When I lived in Tulsa I got to see the plays Oklahoma and Dust on her Petticoats at the Tulsa Amphitheatre. That was so much fun.

I love musicals, even West Side Story.

Timelies. I'm being a slug.

Stephanie, I hope the cold clears up soon for everyone.

Our wings are not tired.

I didn't used to love musicals and I still need to see them live to really love them. Being married to DH#2 made a musical lover out of me. There is something about seeing the same shows hundreds of times to give a girl some appreciation. Now I sing showtunes to the kids. At least once a week I need to sing oh what a beautiful morning to get them up.

Some day I'll dig up a picture of DH#2 doing jumping splits in Annie Get Your Gun. He was such a cutie.

I have boxes of music and a piano. Some day I will learn to play and really drive them crazy.

Today I have science fair project to complete. Tomorrow I do main gate staffing (5 hours) for the Delray Beach Garlic Festival. If nothing else very yummy food.

Hi Deena! I say you deserve to be a slug for a bit.

Because books.

Saturday morning timelies, everyone. I am full of gronk this morning.

I love musicals. Grew up with my mother listening to the soundtracks, which I suppose explains it. Oliver, and Brigadoon, and West Side Story, and dozens more. I love the old ones.

Thanks Laura! I slugged for about 10 minutes, then fed the kids breakfast, gave them their medicine, cleaned up the toy strewn living room, took my medicine, and now I'm slounging with pretzels and diet coke w/ lime.
